ARod and schemes using Tight Ends

The facts are mostly about when he was a WR. Not as a TE. So, that blows up your so-called facts. And, your parrot buddy Jim went along with it. That’s even more laughable. The fact is, as a tight end he looked slow and rarely was open. By the way, they run those 40’s without all the gear on as well. Maybe our receivers need to work on their weight training to increase their speed when fully geared up.

See response to Floyd…

Keanu Hill’s 40-yard dash times, ranging from 4.60 to 4.76 seconds, place him in a competitive position among tight ends. The average 40-yard dash time for tight ends at the NFL Combine is around 4.73 seconds. This means Hill’s times are quite comparable to the average for his position.

For context, some of the fastest tight ends, like Maryland’s Chigoziem Okonkwo, have recorded times as quick as 4.52 seconds. While Hill’s times are slightly above the average, they still demonstrate solid speed for a tight end, especially considering his transition from wide receiver to tight end.

The only person that thinks Hill is slow is you, because you have a large empty space between your ears. LOL

You don’t pay attention to him in games, do you? Your parrot doesn’t either. The 40 is just one part of being a successful TE getting throws to him. He cuts slow and is easy to cover even with a linebacker. He looks fat too. You still don’t get it but will continue to argue even though the number of passes to him are very little.

I am addressing this quote that you made:

YOU GRASSHOPPER made this comment and observation! Not me, Not Jim or PMAC or Fish or anyone else…

You said that that Tight ends (specifically Hill) players were “Slow”.

I addressed your comment with actual factual data and provided the sources of that information to refute you claim that Hill was Slow.

Now, it appears that you see you are corner for making a silly comment and now you are changing the goalpost to avoid admitting that you were wrong.

Again, are those Hill’s current 40? No. And again, slow can be more than a straight 40 yard dash. It can being slow in your cuts on your play route. It could be slow in your reaction time.
See if you can think out of the box on occasions.
So, you didn’t really address my quote correctly. Much like your parrot Jim does all the time.

I don’t mind being Floyd’s parrot on this one… squak, squak!!

I’m beginning to understand why you are lost when it comes to analyzing a game you watch… because you are watching the tight end the whole time. Now the Hopper is a tight end expert, because he watched BYU sports nation the other day.

Classic

Moving the goalposts again. When presented with facts you always discount those facts, change up your argument, add things that you think will help support that new argument and do everything to defend a position that is flimsy at best and everyone else is wrong because you watched BYU sports nation and heard a comment here or there (misunderstood it or misrepresented it) that you mold like clay to fit your narrative.

You are the one that doesn’t accept facts and you have a history of it because you are too prideful to accept the notion that you might be wrong about something. Once again, that and that alone dooms you. Nobody takes you seriously and that’s too bad because I think you have some good opinions and perspectives, you just rarely share them on cougarfan. It’s perplexing.

You are the one showing inability to comprehend what you read. I simply clarified my original statement to help you and Floyd out, squawk. So, that erases 90% of your post. The other 10% is bloviating so you figure the rest out. This means no goal posts were moved. Hill is slow and cuts slow. He only gets open when defense runs zone.

Thank you for proving what EVERYONE on this board says…

So, everyone has poor reading and interpreting comprehension? I agree…

Could you please explain the metrics you use to determine whether a tight end (or WR’s) is considered being “fast” or “slow”?

College and NFL scouts evaluate the speed of tight ends using several key metrics and observations:

  1. 40-Yard Dash: This is the most common measure of straight-line speed. A good time for a tight end is typically in the 4.6 to 4.8-second range.
  2. Game Tape: Scouts watch game footage to see how well a tight end can separate from defenders, especially linebackers and safeties. They look for burst and acceleration in routes.
  3. Speed Score: This combines a player’s 40-yard dash time with their weight to give a more accurate measure of their speed relative to their size. A higher speed score indicates a better combination of size and speed.
  4. Agility Drills: Drills like the 3-cone drill and the 20-yard shuttle are also important. These drills measure a player’s ability to change direction quickly, which is crucial for route running.
  5. Yards After Catch (YAC): Scouts look at how many yards a tight end gains after catching the ball. This shows their ability to use speed and agility to evade defenders.

good info. Nothing like the facts. Kalani spoke about Hill last year, moving him over because he was getting too big…

Laughable…is a guy that makes up stuff, never backs anything up, keeps everyone in constant argument. The rest of us are looking for truth.

IF this is true, it would put Hill at the upper end of TE speed. Not like I had to say anything…Floyd fleshed it out.

You give all this nice information. What does it have to do with our TE Hill? My observation is he moves slow. His cuts are slow and the defenders cover him. So, how is Retzlaff throw to him? He just hasn’t panned out making him a TE. I know they moved him there hoping he’d keep his speed and his quickness. Hasn’t worked so far.

Yet, he was mostly covered easily by linebackers. He just wasn’t open. His blocking was suspect too. Very easy to observe. The table actually are the reasons why we don’t throw to TE. So, your point is laughable.

I understand and it’s okay…

You DON’T understand and it’s NOT okay.

When your only reason for posting here is to argue and you absolutely don’t listen or care what anyone else has to say, people get tired of it. I’m guessing that is why fish deleted his post. I reply out of a sense of duty because I know you personally. I don’t post your real name here because I respect the anonymity factor that some people like to maintain. I’m trying to be a mediator here.

Also, on here you are not very popular. You are much better in real life.
