Yeah, one little game and their season blew up. The players, especially Landale, were pretty upset with that loss. Their is a black cloud inside the silver lining though as I think it made the situation in the wcc even worse than it was. Nobody was really even close to Gonzaga at the end of the season. SMC played chicken all year, BYU didn’t do much better and refused to develop their talent and the rest of the teams followed suit pretty much like they do every year.
It’s a bummer, but the wcc is to blame for it as well. Gonzaga has been the golden goose for too long. They didn’t need much help this season but I have seen past seasons where their preferential treatment by the wcc and officials was ridiculous. It was so bad for so long, that now they are thinking of leaving because they have become greedy and feel like they need a challenge…
