Even if BYU were to win out, the very good AAC has 4 teams that hover around the #25 mark. menphis, UCF, SMU and CINN.

If either SMU or CINN were to win out, they would get the NY bowl game and BYU would be hoping for some more OK or Texas magic.

The SEC will eat up two spots (Ga, Bama)
The Big 10 could get 2 (OSU, Penn)
The Pack12 gets1 Oregon, maybe USC
The big 12 gets 1 ???
ACC could get 2 ( Clemson and ND)
the AAC gets one

With only 6 bowls and 12 spots, BYU is a very long shot and I see no possibility of playing for a national title. That sucker is reserved for a P5 champ. at this point the wild cards are the Big 10 and Pac 12, which have not played yet.

If we get by Houston and BSU and don’t lay an egg in a game we should win … with BYU FB no team is a guaranteed win … then we can start to look closely at which programs might need a game vs a BYU in the P5 realm. I think BYU will have a shot at a P5 fill in game when a P5 conf team covid’s out! We need a P5 game and go undefeated until the SDSU contest to have a legit shot at a New Years Day 6 Bowl.
