Defense is improving so much better than last year

So as a fan, I can understand you comment, but that is not the reality of the coaching world.

Prime example: back in the 1980’s BYU had Anige, Roberts, Kite playing Utah with Vranes and Chambers. Coach at the time was Arnold for BYU and Jerry Pimm was the coach for Utah.

Don’t remember who won the game, but after the game, Arnold, Anige, Roberts, Chambers, Vranes and Pimm all went out to dinner. Several BYU and Utah fans saw them and could not believe they would eat with the enemy.

That is still the norm. Fans are the problem, Coaches and Players have always respected each other and the game.

I can agree with your statement, but there is ebb and flow here. Been a fan for over 40 years, we were QB U…and we still are and I think BYU’s game today HAS to different because of what Tom brought up…

Floyd I think you are right—we have no identity on offense. How do I know that? Because when BYU is on D we are all excited to see what’s next. But When BYU is on offense we are all white knuckling the remote control just hoping something bad doesn’t happen

When a DeFence is dominate, they get off the field quicker, that creates a scenario of Does the O come on and bomb away or do we try to sustain drives that eat clock. One of the factors of the Lavel era, we were so bad at D, he had to come up with the pass game and just out score the other guy, when the D finally caught up…

BYU won a Natty. (I tutored Leon White in a Geology class, I bought Todd Shells car from him after the Niners drafted him)

I kind of like having a tough defense. The best teams, overall, have a strong defense and an offense that doesn’t make mistakes. Sure it was fun 40 years ago to score lots of points and throw the ball around all over the place. I remember a game at SDSU that ended up 52-52 and it felt like a win. BYU can’t do that anymore because of the OC they have,

Bingo but there’s hope. Moa got like 4 yds after contact. None of our RBs were doing that, maaaaybe Martin, a little. 2- Retzaiff played mistake free in the KSU game. He has a cadre of great receivers…imagine a game of Lassiter, Roberts and a TE, all with TDs plus one or two rushing TDs, it’s going to happen.
