I worry more that Emery will be too small and too slow than I do for his shoulder. I hope is that he is a better shooting Carlino without the selfishness and terrible decision making, and not a guy who winds up on the pine because he can’t get a shot off and can’t guard anyone.
I share your concern about Calvert. Chatman is coming off injury but was plenty athletic when he was dropping tomahawks on the top Tacoma and Seattle talent in AAU ball. Maybe still working back from a pretty bad situation with his knee last year?
If you saw Aytes with his shirt off you would stop worrying. He is built like a mack truck. Physically he will overwhelm 3’s, and he’s strong and athletic enough to legitimately guard the 4s. They limited him in the summer but only as a precaution. I’m told he is good to go.
I disagree with you about how FB4 could fit on this team. I was a consistent fan of FB4 and can tell you he is a really good kid. He was just too much of a tweener; they gave him chances to handle the ball last and he made consistently terrible decisions, he laid bricks so couldn’t play the wing, and even though he is a true gamer and plays hard, he was just too small in the paint. He will have more fun playing where his size and skill can translate to stardom, and I really wish it for him.
