Personally, I think people tend to overthink things and believe things that fit their perspective views.
What happened to George Floyd was not right, and was a failure of Minnesota Police administration holding their officers accountable. that cop seen kneeling on the neck of Mr. Floyd had at least 19 complaints against him prior to this incident. I am not anti cop, I am actually pro cop… Talking to my daughter yesterday, I discussed that there is a difference between a cop making a mistake and being a bad cop.
A cop who makes a mistake like kneeling on the neck of an arrestee as Mr. Floyd, because of maybe something going on at the time that distracted him,is what I term a cop making a mistake. Even though it was a mistake, he should still be held accountable and not allowed to remain on the force because of his lack of judgement, but maybe not prosecuted because of circumstances.
While I believe the cop in question is a bad cop, because he had been on the force for 19 years and should have known better… That cop should be prosecuted for his crime.
Sorry, but I do not look at the world events and believe as you that there is “No truth” left out there outside of the prophet. When I see cops hugging protesters and supporting their right to protest an unjust act, gives me hope that maybe we can work together to resolve our issues. When I see protesters protecting a lone cop who got separated from his group, that gives me hope.
I believe the majority of the protesters are good honest people who want change, but unfortunately, there is an criminal element in our society that uses a just cause to create mahem, violence and destruction. Which actually is counter productive of the protest.
Truth will always stand, even in dark days. You need to find it sometimes, but it never leaves. I believe as President Nelson that their is much good and honor in our world. unfortunately, evil voice is louder than at any time previous, that is why it so important for us to raise our own voices.
I refuse to believe that we as individual cannot affect change, because it has been proven for hundreds of years that one person can make a difference by simply “raising their voice” to counter the negative out there.
Just imaged what our world would look like if Martin Luther King Jr. did not “Raise his voice”?
