Chase Roberts, Jatta, Tanner Wall, Vegas Raiders. Roberts will have his work cut out. He has sure hands, a big body but ran the worse 40 of any reciever. Jatta has the work ethic to stick. Hall should have a long NFL career with the right team……you feelin me KC Chiefs?
Bomba, Grimes and Will Ferrin, NY Jets….Bomba ran one of the fastest 40s in the combine.
From everything I’ve read, Roberts ran the slowest 40 at the Combine because he wasn’t as healthy as he needed to be. Several people advised him not to run it, but he chose to go ahead with it at the last minute.
At BYU’s Pro Day—when he was healthier—he posted a 4.51, compared to the 4.64 he ran in Indianapolis.
Even with the slow 40, Roberts still tested well in other areas. He recorded a 37" vertical and a 10’6" broad jump, both strong numbers for a wide receiver. He also performed well in positional drills like the Gauntlet, where he showed reliable hands and consistency.
I think the key for Roberts is finding a team that scheme helps him shine. I have no doubt he will stick in the NFL.
Well, that’s just perfect. The one franchise where promising players seem to go to crash and burn. And honestly, it’s rarely the players’ fault. The organization has a long, proud tradition of taking talent and watching it melt down around them.
But hey, at least they can still chant J‑E‑T‑S while everything falls apart.
when it comes to the “where players go to watch their careers die”, the Jets….. pretty much applies to QBs and not much more. If ever there were a place for a field goal kicker, it would be NY! Perfect place for Grimes and Ferrin. But then, as you say, the Jets will find a way to screw things up.
