Great team effort. Everybody that played made a solid contribution.
Houston won, but not by a lot. I get the feeling they are capable of shifting into another gear and we will probably see a better Houston than Colorado saw.
As I mentioned before, Colorado has been playing much better the past few games to win 3 of them. I still think we are better. Especially if we shoot like we did today. The key will be play defense better as well. Box out. Get the rebounds and play like we are able to. Not like we did before against them.
Well, that was fun.
Extremely watchable gam- both teams played well. KY adjustments were very timely.
Announcer said byu needed to double team Jones (?? Forgot name and too lazy to go find it) after starting 2nd half hot just like they do in the NBA. I said - nope, this isn’t the NBA, he’ll cool off. Insert Stewart, voila, he got cooled off.
And a hats off to knell. Exactly what we need from him
Aaand, I just saw deseret news had an article on Stewart cooling off jones.
No, I’m not a ghost writer for DN. They don’t pay enough I’m sure (says the retired guy)
The one announcer kept talking about the two guards that were injured and that it would make a difference. I guess he didn’t realize we beat ISU with those 2 playing a couple of weeks ago. These announcers are really annoying at times.
Houston will be tough. The good news is that everyone played under 26 minutes today. 3 of Houston players played 30+ minutes.
Knell was four for four - all 3 pters
Just thinking- maybe knell and retzlaff have a similar trait - if knell can/has learned to maybe play within his limitations maybe retzlaff can do that too.
Obviously huge difference in value to their respective teams but principle the same.
Retzlaff could be top 10 qb if he finally adjusts and knell seems like he is maximizing his skill set.
Again, he played last week and we beat them. No reason to think he was the reason for the loss and BYU’s win. Seems like everyone always tries to put BYU down even when we win.
Houston will lock down Knell, limit Saunders, blow out…wait…that already happened.
but have no fear, BYU will only go as far as our guards can get us. Meaning outside shooting and defense. It just depends on who BYU gets seeded with.
It will depend on whether we will come out and not be timid. It’s between the ears. We came out better in the 2nd half and made more shots. In everything but shooting, we played them even or better. I expect a better team on Thursday between the ears.
