Retzlaff was hit on the throw. It affected how far the ball went.

So Retzlaff was good for 1/2 less 3 minutes.
So tired of this.
He sure grabs both sides of his helmet a lot.
With 3 rushers. Ya gotta give yourself a chance.
But this was not lost on this play. Very low odds of success anyway. It was lost in first half with horrible offense and sub par defense and lost again on last two offensive plays before Hail Mary.

This is true. It was like Retzlaff was worn out. Two throws sailed on him and then the weak Hail Mary.

The muff on the onside kick didn’t help. But yeah, if the offense and defense had played both halves, we go away with the win.
Ya, what was up with the first half? Terrible. Why did it take 30 minutes of game to make adjustments? And, why weren’t we more ready for Skattabo? And, our offense came alive and then my take is, so much throwing, Retzlaff ran out of gas. Two throws take off on him. Got lucky the first wasn’t picked off. But, the 2nd wasn’t. Had that been on the money. Lassieter may have gone all the way.

Real question- how much difference does his sidearm throws hurt or increase odds of blocked? Maybe minuscule impact
Looks like the 2nd interception wasn’t entirely his fault it was a bit high but appeared to be catchable. They dug themselves too deep a hole. This one doesn’t hurt nearly as much as the one last week. If they had beaten Kansas this loss wouldn’t have mattered nearly as much.
Now only an outside chance at the Big 12 title game. Four teams have at least two losses and Iowa State plays tonight and could end up with loss number 3.
Win next week and they will have at least a share of first place and a ten win season.
