he really struggles when blitz or being pressured, but ASU pass blitz is horrible. “they have the second worst pass rushing grade in all of college foogball”, “third worst pass rush win rate”, “110th in blitz rate” only blizing 27% of the time, utah blitzed 60+% of the time.
that is a good match up for us.
ASU also seem to focus on one receiver Jordan Tyson. he averages double digit catches a game the next highest is his tight end, and the most he’s gotten in a game is 5. I see there being a lot of skattebo runs and check down passes. I know BYU can shutdown the run and the pass. Retzlaff is awesome when he isn’t blitzed or rushed. I see this going down like the Baylor and UCF games 34 23 BYU.
Talking about showing respect to others who post here is not something the Hopper will understand very well. Can you explain what you did in a different way?
I’ll also be at the game (glad I bought tickets at the beginning of the season because its a sellout). My prediction is BYU comes out focused and mad! Final score: BYU 35 ASU 13
KinkDunk, if you come back after 6 months since posting, and you immediately dunk on ASU like that, and if you are right, I’m buying if I ever see you in person!
Need to get a prediction in. BYU 43 ASU 17 with one contingency - Retzlaff does what he hasn’t done all year in P4 games - play a good game - not the last minute of the game, not just a half but a full game. ARod will also be a big factor.
If you read between the lines, Sitake was p.o’ed after last week. His comments were not pinpoint direct, but it was unmistakable and specifically directed at the offense in particular at Retzlaff and Arod. I’m sure he and ARod had a “discussion”.
ARod’s comments also reflect this that he was on the hotseat after last game.
Also as evidence, listen to Austin Collie after the game. He was hot too. Really pounded the offense especially Arod and Retzlaff. Very pointed. and he was right. And this was on a BYU broadcast where they tend to be a lot less critical. Post game show I think. So stop, some of you, with the can’t critic a Coach that are/is drawing monster salaries and aren’t earning their paycheck. I’m not a stats junkie, but s.o. could look up BYU offense for the last 4-5 games of how they rank with all other teams 4-5 games. Bet we rank about 105 or so offensively. Just contrast with J Hill (for president! as fish points out often).
I hope Retzlaff and ARod have their best games of the year so far
Unfortunately, there was no “dunking” … only missed layups. As my son likes to remind me “thanks for passing along the generational trauma of your favorite team”. I thought the Kansas game would ignite a spark … but the Cougs came out flat.
