Unfortunately a president is on call 24/7, or should be. I guess Jill runs the country between 4:00 pm and 10 am.

Seriously, I think longtime Democrat insiders have been running the country from day one of his presidency and k believe they are the more radical faction of the party, I remember in his first week in office he made some statement about policy that sounded moderate and within 24 hours he retracted it. When that happened I figured he was set straight and reminded he wasn’t in charge. That’s my opinion.

There was a group of people “Proud boys” (militiamen, white supremacists, anti-maskers) that planned to break into the capitol and upend what congress constitutional duties were. To threaten congress, intimidate and cause chaos.

That is textbook term for Domestic Terrorism.

Like I said “Some”, I do not believe the majority was with this group but caught up in the excitement and probably went further than they intended or would do normally.

I will say that the DOJ was acting like terrorist rounding up these ordinary citizens who simply made a mistake.

As for comparing the Proud boys to Antifa or BLM, does it really matter who was worse? they all terrorized innocent people trying to do their jobs.

Many vote 3rd party or some fictious person. I heard Snoopy one year got a lot when Doyle was running against Clinton.

Some people vote based on their personal belief system and will not bend to choose between two bad choices. What I have been told is that to choose the lessor of two evils, you are still choosing evil (at least how I understand what they are saying). Some people can’t wrap their heads around it.

Hypothetical for what I just said:
If Hitler and Stalin were running for the same political position, would you still vote for the lesser of two evils?

That is why I liked the SCOTUS decision. According to one legal expert, SCOTUS has always held that the President is immune from prosecution if he is acting in his official capacity. This is set-in long-time standards, this decision, puts those standards into law.

The thing is, Trump could still be charged, if in the view of the court he was acting on a personal level, not as an official level.

That is true, but my problem is that some of the Trump MAGA supporter have called all democrats communist, Socialist, fascist… All you have to do is read one person posts on this site to prove my point.

So, name calling is not reserved for democrats is my point.

I stand by the opinion that neither candidate is worth Sh*t and should have been shown the door.
but we have too many in both parties that can’t get over themselves for what is best for the country.

Of the riots charged, there were three who were also charged with have a gun with them, one of which not only had a loaded gun, but extra magazines with him.

Did you know none of Antifa members had guns when they rioted the cities? they are more into physical intimidation (if convicted, don’t serve as much time). did that reduce the people’s fears? that these guys didn’t have weapons?

I agree that this decision is the best decision. Sotomyyawn is the dumbest of all of the liberal justices. Even worse than the one that can’t tell anyone what a woman is. Note the rage from the Democrats. It’s in their nature to rage. We probably will see more rage in front of the justices homes as well. And, nothing done about it again.

The fact of the matter is so called right wing terror groups are much smaller than Antifa or BLM and haven’t done a hundredth of the property damage or caused the number of bodily injuries the left wing groups have caused. No unlawful demonstrations, or riots, should go unprosecuted but the Dems have no interest in doing anything about leftist groups.

I would suspect most of these groups are Doomsday Prepper groups, or groups critical of the government. People who have guns and food storage and have made statements about the government that are critical. They are not terrorists. I am not a part of any such group but the government monitors them and some have been ridiculously classified as terrorist groups.

yes…American politics returned to normal after the Soviet Union fell…the world war 2 to end of the cold war unity, more or less, on the primacy of foreign relations and the general unity on the idea of winning the war and then the cold war ended.

Sadly most American’s understanding of the animosity of the one side toward the other in a two party system was all but forgotten…though I do think that the intervening technological changes may have exacerbated the situation a bit…hard to say which has had more of a deliterious effect: the tech change or the loss of memory of how cutthroat the competition used to be.

That said as you mentioned the Clinton and more recently the Trump impeachments would never have happened in pre-modern tech American history.

When Thomas was confirmed more than 75% of Americans agreed with his characterizing it as a high tech modern lynching…with the unrelenting press coverage of him since it is amazing to me how much of America believes he doesn’t belong on the Court.

You would be wrong on this point, most of these groups that I mentioned are basically racist, that thinks the Blacks, Jews and anyone who doesn’t think their way has destroyed America. Then you have the neo-Nazi, KKK, and other groups. Don’t forget we also have home grown Islamic and black groups as well.

The number I currently know about is around 50K known homemade terrorist in the country. The FBI has a special branch that tracks these people. The real issue is that no one really knows the count because as Harold said, Technology has made getting the word out easier.

If you look at some of the mass shootings that especially younger kids have committed, a good portion of them tie back into some “conspiracy” group.

I have done some pretty good research on this subject, not sure why it interests me, but hey everyone has to have a hobby.

I watch people get all lathered up about how great Trump is, people who claim to be “God Fearing” and yet, they support a man who has violated one of the most sacred trusts (marriage) that God himself ordained, multiple times. They say Trump is not establishment and he will break up the swamp. Did he do that the last time? No! he created chaos and towards the end he fought with everyone.

We had a choice this time around, elect someone (Several people were good choices) that has the same policies as Trump, without the baggage of Trump. And what did the far-right do? They high jacked the election process to put Trump back into the running.

In my opinion, both parties are corrupt with power hungry people. They don’t give dam about the people, only lining their pockets and getting power. Congress has stopped working because both sides extremist derails anything that doesn’t fit their beliefs.

So, you go ahead and support “Captain Moroni” Trump all you want (This is what Senator Mike Lee called Trump during the 2020 election cycle).

In the last days, it was prophesied that “men will call good, evil and evil, good”.

If you were in Biden administration, had have seen Biden in his current state, as someone on Fox News mentioned that the “Administration is running the country”, would you invoke the 25th amendment to remove your power you have to put laughing Harris into the Presidency?

I agree. They have a real problem. Harris is unelectable but I would think they could invoke the 25th and then let Harris fight it out with whoever else wants the nomination.

To your earlier point about home grown terrorists I am not questioning that there are all kinds of extremist groups both left and right but I certainly wouldn’t trust the FBI as a source. The FBI has lost the trust of the American people and has been weaponized against US citizens.

I also know for a fact that the designation of what is a terrorist organization is loosely defined.

Also being a racist organization makes it an extremist organization but not necessarily terrorist. Most of these orgs haven’t committed any acts of terror. A single person with extremist views committing mass murder on his own doesn’t necessarily connect a group to him unless the shooter acted under their direction.

First of all, I can’t tell you how many LDS people with Temple recommends are on their 2nd, 3rd and 4th wives, but there are apparently many more than you think there are. People like you sitting around judging others without a shred of evidence on circumstances is good calling evil good and good evil. Maybe it was his ex-wife boinking someone and he just wanted out and found Malania. Do you know? I know he’s 100% against alcohol and drugs. I know he’s a business man that put the country back into a good place economically. I know he got NATO to put up or shut up. I know he got us out of bad negotiations with other countries including Canada and Mexico. He got us out of the Climate Accord of the commies. I know he had negotiated peace with Israel’s enemies in the Middle East. I know there were no new wars started like with Obama and Biden. I know Putin didn’t go back into Ukraine for 4 years. I know our military was strengthened without money going to queer transitioning. I know the border wasn’t being breached like it has happened under Biden and it was getting better. Criminals, terrorists, human trafficking, huge drug smuggling and more wasn’t happening under Trump. Inflation was under 2% allowing for a strong economy until the China Virus orchestrated by Fauci and the communist Democrats ruined the economy. I know Trump only had control of Congress for just 2 years so he could not get rid of all the deep state. I know your so-called moral Republicans did everything they could to sabotage Trump. I know Trump didn’t go after his political opponents and throw Hillary, Obama and Biden and others in jail. I know Trump is for fair elections without crazy ballot harvesting. I know he did keep most of his pre-election promises and can give you a list of pages and pages of them. I could go on and on. But you only see sexual morality as the only kind of morals. Nor, can you see the good that even what you label immoral people can and do, do.

The question now, Floyd, who can put America back on track of being a Constitutional Republic? I get sick and tired of you and others saying Trump will destroy “democracy.” I hope he does because we aren’t and never have been a democracy. A democracy is in fact a top down mob rule dictatorships system of government. We are a republic with rights of the people to supersede the government’s control of those rights. And, the only two possible candidates right now that could possibly get us back on track are Trump and DeSantis. And Trump is the candidate to take us back to a republic.

Let me make another point oh righteous one of judgment. King David wrote Psalms after he confessed to the Bathsheba adultery and killing of her husband. Should we throw out the book of Psalms? How about the women of Joseph Smith. Should we throw out the Book of Mormon, D&C, Pearl of Great Price? Stop judging that which you have no knowledge of and whether Trump has repented. Trump nor anyone else will ever be perfect. Look at whether or not he can do the job. Who was Joseph Smiths personal body guard? Porter Rockwell? Did the Prophet care about his past to do the job?

How people decide to vote is individual and I will never say they are wrong (even those that vote Biden), because we all see the world through different lenses and life experiences.

I have personally seen the effects of infidelity on families and how that can tear a family apart. That is a big issue I have with Trump. Trump is a narcist, he only thinks what is best for him. Like all narcist, he can spin words to make you believe that he is “For America”, but the last half of his previous time in the office, showed me, he is all about “Trump”.

I don’t hate Biden; I think he is being used as a puppet because of his mental state and quite frankly, I am not sure he understands what is really going on.

Having taken care of my 93-year-old mom for the last 5 years of her life, who by the way, had the same signs as Biden (pauses, memory lapses, etc.), it pisses the hell out of me that someone is taking advantage of Biden for political gain. Grant you, Biden is not innocent, he decided to run, he decided to hire the staff he has. But I can’t help but feel someone else is pulling the strings.

What brought this up to me, is a cup my son gave me for Father’s Day last year, It is a YETI cup and on one side of the cup, it has my name. On the other side it has a quote I use to tell my kids as they were growing up.

“Stand up for what’s right, even if you have to stand alone.”

Some days, I feel like I am standing alone on my views of current politics and how those conflicts with my personal and religious beliefs.
