1 stop 5th year Sr. Fifita
2 he throws to 3 Seniors
3 Az has a solid Oline that will try to push BYU around. If they can get a rushing game going, that opens up the air attack for Fifita and a loooong day.
4 they will use a “Heavy” package inside the redzone (2 TEs) and they have a long receiver (Spivey) much like our 6’6 Kasper
5 Az has a very good defense, maybe one of the best LBer’s in Brown in our league. They held NAU to 0 yards rushing and 200 passing. BYU has sooo many options, Az will not be stopping BYU from moving the ball.
6 When BYU has the ball, unlike NAU, BYU will be running a lot on Az and we will have time to pass the ball. I don’t see many down field throws happening in the 1st half much but if that running game opens up and Az cheats up, we will be throwing long. BYU will use ball control, rushing and short stuff to get up a score or two and when Az starts taking more risk in the 2nd, that’s when chunk plays happen.
7 BYU on D will look to pressure Fifita, if he has time in the pocket, he will pick us apart, he is that good and so are his receivers. Not happening at Les. calling for 1 interception and 1 TO. Fifita is short, listed 5’10 (in cleats) and he most of his receivers fall into the 6’ range except Spivey (6-4)
The game in Vegas is over/under 51 points and BYU -7.5. I say that BYU get the over and scores 34 points and wins by at least 10
8 Az is looking for revenge after their double OT loss at home…BYU is looking for a Big 12 title and CFP invite. This game will look like the ND-Wisc game.…tight in the 1st half, then BYU pulls away.
Arizona Wildcats cruise to season-opening victory over NAU
9 Availability report
Multiple Wildcats were unavailable on Saturday, including linebacker Max Harris, running back Ismail Mahdi, Oregon transfer defensive back Daylen Austin, Memphis transfer linebacker Everett Roussaw, running back Cornelius Warren III, defensive tackle Ezra Funa and defensve back Dajon Hinton, who suffered a leg injury in the Holiday Bowl last season.
Harris and Mahdi are awaiting their eligibility status after filing for a temporary restraining order and preliminary injunction against the NCAA, which could allow them to play for the Wildcats as “five-for-five” players this season.
