1 The reffing in this game made it unwatchable…they spent the 30 minutes swallowing the whistles. Bodies flying everywhere, hacking, straight arming, hard fouls, no calls. Then they call every little ticky tack touch. and ruin the game. Worst game I have watched in forever.
2 BYU, you had one job to do…cover Madson and Little on the 3line. and you left them open all game long. utah could not make an inside shot all night once Auser was injured, so all Utah ran was a high pic and Madson buries 3 and Little buries 6 threes. Finally someone from BYU, IDK, a random coach comes up with the bright idea of our big running out on the pic…Genius.
They pay these guys millions and that is their game plan…Treat everyone even and fail to guard the only guys that can hurt you.
3 calling a flagrant foul on Hall for using his body to block out a defender, something he has done throughout the season and these refs call, not just a foul, but a flagrant 1. JOKE!!
4 Keba was a MAN out there.
5 Utah out rebounding BYU 53-34, ouch. at least We cut down on the TOs.
It amazes me that he still shows flashes of brilliance but was unable to fulfil his potential.
Ditto for Caleb Lohner.
I think the reason why KY will have a great future at BYU is that players like this will end up with seasons like Knell and Stewart have had…vast improvement.
Remember when everyone in the country talked about Caleb Lohner’s NBA potential?
Remember when I posted the dunk Hunter had over Boi Boi, Mutombo’s son?
Lohner always has that lost look in his eyes, It’s like he wants to do something great but then doubts creep in his brain. A stud looks for the biggest challenge in the room and goes right at it.
Both this guys exemplify people with high potential but just can’t pull the trigger.
Cosmo has more mental fortitude then any of these dudes.
Funny you should bring up these two…Knell was always going to take that shot, he think’s 100%, it’s going in, and he has learned that if his shot is not going down, he can drive, or dish. I have no problem with his offense. He is a STUD but then there’s that other thing, 50% of the equation.
Stewart, on the other hand, is an inspiration. There is zero doubt that he could of gone anywhere and gotten more minutes, scored plenty for, say a Mtn West team, but he stuck, KY loves him, I love him, never once has his ever complained. And he can block the just about anyone’s shot, his hops are unreal. Rarely takes a poor shot, consummate team player. Every winning team has a Stewart type player on it.
