Why is Notre Dame ranked higher? Their schedule isn’t as difficult and their one loss is a bad one. Some other one loss teams should be ranked behind other undefeated teams as well.
When was the last time both Army and Navy were ranked in the same year? Answer, 1960.
Oregon was a P12 member and are ranked #1 because of the OSU win but nobody knows how good OSU is, We won’t know how good Oregon is until they play a title game. The Sec is down big time over past years. Big 12 gets no love
You do know that the SEC and Big 10 will get 4 bids each. Could be 5 and 4. Very slight chance could be 4 and 3. Going with the 4 and 4 and auto for little guys, leaves ACC and Big 12 fight for a total of 3 spots. In Acc, have Clemson, SMU and Miami (and maybe Pitt) fighting for it. In Big 12, Byu ISU and Kstate most likely. If ND wins out, ACC and Big12 only get one spot each. No better than the little guys!!!. Welcome to the illusion of fairness and being one of the Big boys. TV controls and that means money and that means SEC and Big10 control it. Will line their own pockets first and throw the rest a bone or two. We’ll feel like were back in the MWC or WAC. Rodney Dangerfields again.
Just saying, let’s not get overly excited about our long term prospects.
I don’t care about rankings. It means nothing until the end of the season.
BYU just need to win one game at a time we can’t worry about it what other people thinks about this team. Now I’m hearing that Oklahoma State is favor by nine today surprising? Well that will motivate our players.
Having watched the Oregon/OSU game, imo Ohio State is typical of who they usually are-big, strong, fast. Probably on a neutral field, they beat Oregon. Texas probably beats both teams. BYU, theoretically should be ranked higher than 13, but one loss drops them lower than it does the big name schools. I wouldn’t sweat it-just keep winning
It isn’t going to be easy. We should be practicing like we are underdogs. OKS has the best running back in the country. The QB can sling it. So, we have to be playing our very best on defense. We have to also improve on offense as well. Everyone will continue to improve from this point forward. We have to as well. Because we don’t have as many 4 and 5 star recruits, the rest of the teams have an edge of being able to improve. So, our teamwork and focus on the small things will help keep us improving in areas maybe the more gifted will overlook.
You are correct. Ok St has a lot of talent and could turn things around quickly. They have been way underperforming to this point. The buy week could have helped them fix some things. This is a dangerous game but BYU is favored. ESPN gives us a 63% chance to win and Vegas favors us by about 9. I expect it to be tough game unless Ok St has lost their confidence.
No, I don’t know that. I see that the big 12 gets one of the four top spots reserved for each of the conference champ, beyond that it will be rankings. ND will have to fight for a spot just like any other P4 team since they play most of their games with the ACC crowd.
Fish. Maybe you don‘t absolutely know, but you have to rationally know the SEC/BIG10 will be at least 7, most likely 8 and a chance at 9 but 9 not very likely. They don’t want to do it shamelessly the first time. You have way too much faith the polls will evaluate without bias to sec and big 10. that has been there for years. Now will be worse with additions and positions of Texas and Oregon respectively in the top12 this year. The only way big 12 gets two in is if the conference championship game loser went into that game undefeated so has just one loss before the playoffs selection. Any team in sec/ big 10 with 2 losses will definitely jump a big12 team with 2 losses and a high probability would jump a one loss big 12 team.
