College game day

I watched a little of college game day today. For some odd reason they decided to kick off the season with Florida State and Georgia Tech playing a game in Dublin, Ireland. I don’t get it. What is the connection? Is college football a thing in Ireland? Do either of those teams have any connection to Ireland? I mean if it was Notre Dame then I get it. There was nobody there… no crowd of sign waving fanatics, nobody interested much… the cameras were stuck on the announcers and the threatening skyline… the game got rained on, literally and figuratively.

Do people use their logic and reasoning to make decisions anymore or do they just wing it and see what happens? To me it looks like the latter more often than not.

Also, is every team in the Big 12 ranked besides BYU? As they were showing the upcoming matchups (I assume starting next week) it looked like every team they listed as ranked was a Big 12 team… both Kansas schools, both Oklahoma schools. Utah, Arizona, etc. I think that was it but whoa… that is a tough go this season. The rest of the ranked teams (top 10) were all of the usuals. College football overall is getting boring… same old, same old. No rivalries, no bowl game matchups to anticipate, no conference rivalries… it just about MONEY.

I want BYU to do well but am having a hard time thinking they will. Too many red flags.

Here’s a silver lining in the sky…Georgia Tech BEAT #10 FSU. So, all the so-called smart people with their analytics were wrong! I see that we have players starting with experience and increased skill levels. We are deeper even if Floyd can’t see it. Especially on the line and in skilled positions. It comes down to what we talked about. How do they play against Northern Illinois. Score 40-50 points and we will have a good season.
Speaking of scoring a lot of points. SP had 49 on the board at halftime against a horrible Bernstein High School. But, that’s what good teams do with opponents they should win by a wide margin. SP graciously did not play any starters the 2nd half. SP even refused to score at the one yard line in the 3rd quarter by taking delay penalties and taking a knee 4 times. Had the starting RB run the ball 20 times, he would have had 1,000 yards rushing…
