Iâm weaking. You all do know he is calling us out as racist, religious bigots. I want to angrily respond, but itâll just feed his deep-seated persecution complex. Iâll just say WOW!
I will never respond to h. again on ANYTHING.
If you take it that way. I was at the beginning just making you aware of using the term without being Jewish can be offensive to some Jews when uttered by Christians. Many Jews are still fearful of Christians because of their history with Jews. I really thought the reaction would be âOh, I didnât know that, sorry.â
Let me remind a few of you that you called me out for using terms like Utard. Have I used that since? No.
I am not sure why you thought you would get that kind of reaction. Because of your contrarian and antagonistic comments you have in no way gained any ones respect on this forum. instead of seeking a dopamine hit from this kind of action, and instead showed respect to us and consideration for our points and engaged in them instead of taking pleasure at derailing us. you might have gotten a better response. what do I mean by a better response? well it wouldnât be one of capitulation like you wanted, but of mutual respect where we both understand each other, but may not fully agree with each other. So here is my advice. If you want to have that kind of respect here on this forum. Then resist the urge of that dopamine hit and engage honestly and respectfully. keep in mind you canât have both so choose wisely.
To show you that I want the mutual respect. I will stop calling you whopper.
Me checking name of this threadâŚ.me checking topic listâŚâŚyes, this is a football threadâŚ
- Fernk, thanks for the funny gifs. I donât know how to do those (Iâm only 58, just developmentally disabled when it comes to modern messaging tools).
- Fernk, in the immortal words of THawk, DONâT TAKE THE BAIT.
- I miss THawkâs posts! THawk if you are out there we need you on the football message board!
- BYU SHOULD beat Wyo by 20.
- BYU SHOULD give Bohanon meaningful snaps.
- If Retzlaff sputters again, canât take care of the ball, or both, and KS doesnât give QB2 or QB3 a chance, KS deserves whatever happens to BYU in conference play.
AROD gets me to laugh out loud! He says two of the three TOs were not JRâs fault . Calls the fumble a snap count issue.â ARod is simply too much. When did a snap count ever have anything to do with a QB choosing not to cover up the ball when heâs running?
I simply donât believe ANYTHING ARod says anymore, but this article was great because it gave me a few nice chuckles.
I saw that - didnât quite understand why he would say that. Thanks for the clarifying context. Yes- hilarious! How dumb does he think we are? Retzlaff is his guy so he is giving him a lot of rope.
I would say sitakis reaction to the turnovers is totally different. He is pissed and seething. I hope he had one of those boss to subordinate talks with Arod where no one else should or wants to be in the room. Just to âclarifyâ a couple of things.
now I am offended. how dare you
after watching the game a second time, I can safely say:
1 BYUâs defense is really good especially the linebackers⌠Everything they said about Kelly is true. He is a certain NFL draft pick. His closing speed is elite for a guy that goes 240.
2 Our Oline struggled to keep SMU out of the backfield and give Retziaff time to throw. Our Oline did not get push for our RBs. Yes, they are better then last season, but thenâŚthey were at bottom of D1 rankings, does not say much.
3 The bright spot of the SMU O game was the use of Tight Ends. We have 3 good ones, use them on every single play.
4 If this win is indicative, BYU is trouble in the big 12 once again.
Well played fish, well played
Walked into that one
Wow, I am really offended
Lol!!!
Need to expand more:
BYUâs Oline pushed SIU back all night. Want a 1st down? easy. Then we play SMU, we canât get that push, canât get 1st downs so now we have to get fancy with our plays. Use the TEs a bunch (good thing) A lot of Rezaiff runs (bad thing)âŚThis will be what we see in every Big 12 game. BYU could lose a bunch of big 12 games except our D is light years ahead of last yearâŚbut donât expect to see scores in the 30s 40s or 50s. We donât have the Oline for that.
They lied to us. ARod has got to go
There is a BIG difference between the talent on SIU and SMU.
This year, 5 of the 7 defensive front line played for Miami the last couple of years. These boys had talent.
My observation is simple, when you are at the bottom of the barrel, the only way is to go up!
Yes, are O-line plays better than last year, that is not hard to do when you were near last place in every category last year.
One thing I wish Kalani and other coaches would do is that if the player is making mistakes over and over, they âsit themâ for a predetermine timeframe.
When an Offensive lineman missed a block during the days of Roger French, he was pulled and sat on the bench for a series of plays and the player would then have to deal with the wrath of French.
But we donât want to hurt people feelings and take away their participation awards!
As with basketball, the more teams play, the more things (fancy) teams can do and will at the right moments. Too much of (things) tends to create mistakes and turnovers. Maybe this is what ARod was eluding to when he blames something unrelated to Retzlaff fumbles. The tricks caused Retzlaff to focus on the trick rather than ball security. Must play Bohanan tomorrow in case as the offense and defenses get more complexed, someone who can secure the ball with complexity should be the QB.
Floyd you NAILED IT with the Roger French comparison. Roger French. Total BadA$$. 100%. Nobody messed with him. When French sat those OL for a series, they came back in the game ON FIRE to DOMINATE THEIR MATCHUP because they would rather die a thousand deaths by fire than have to screw up a SECOND time and face French! Maybe the best OL coach in NCAA history if you consider the ratio of NFL linemen produced to his available talent pool.
Floyd also points out what I said after the SIU gameâit was nice and JR threw a few nice balls, but I would withhold judgment due to the fact it was literally a practice game vs a lower division team. Yes, it sucks to be Wyo or ND and LOSE your practice game, but all the hype about JR after the SIU game was totally premature, and most of us knew it at the time.
Wyo isnât even true test, because Wyo is a bad team that gets recruits who canât get a better offer anywhere else. Wyo has been OBLITERATED by ASU and then lost a practice game to Idaho. Wyo is terrible. Iâll be sorely disappointed if BYU doesnât win this game by 3 scores. The first couple B12 games is when we find out whether BYU is an overachieving bowl-bound team, or a 4-8 teams with the rats jumping off as the ship goes down in flames.
I think youâre over reacting. It is making the issue WAY bigger than it is or intended. All I did was relate a stupid joke I made as a 12 year old for crying out loud. It isnât even demeaning and it wasnât the beginning of me becoming a bigoted person. Let a kid be a kid, we force them to grow up way too soon in todayâs world.
