I can imagine a couple of other scenarios, but yeah, nobody comes out looking great. Wish them all the best in their futures, and hope they will never find their indiscretions plastered across national or local media again…
I will forever remember an elder on my mission whose father I knew peripherally, a Bishop from the other end of the stake, who turned his life around and agreed with the Stake President that his profits from dealing drugs would be best handled by donating to good causes, and financing his mission. Visiting my parents once years later I saw that particular elder as a visiting high counselor in the stake…doing well …never looked back…
