Former Coach Ken Schmidt passed away this week

BYU football: Remembering Ken Schmidt’s impact on BYU football – Deseret News

What I remember at the end of his time at BYU, fans did not like his “bend but don’t break” defensive scheme. But I do know his players loved him, I got to work with Vic Tarleton (CB for BYU) umpiring games, He always talked about how he loved Coach Schmidt.

I actually ran into Coach Schmidt when he was helping with his grandson Alta Ute conference team (here in Sandy, Utah area). He was just a “little” intense, but after the game we got to talk a little about BYU football and who we knew.

The legacy coaches of the Edwards era are slowly moving on to the greener pastures.

Man, who do you not know? Calling me a narcissist? it’s Friday and still no football or basketball.

I know a lot of people because of my officiating, I did a game at Alta when Ken was there, his son was the HC. Since we both had a common friend, we talked.

Probably not but it’s a good story anyway. :upside_down_face:
