Grimes is leaving for Baylor

Let’s remember that Sitaki is the HC. He makes the final decisions on what kind of defense is run. We went 11-1 during a difficult time. Top 5 defense. Top 5 offense. I think we are in good hands.

Hopper, you have more credibility if you exhibited more reasonability in your remarks. BYU had the 106 toughest schedule in 2020. 106!!!

I can “identify” with that comment… It like Birthday’s, at my age we don’t celebrate “Milestones”. :open_mouth:

over most of the season, Kalani was the one calling the defensive plays.

I started a thread specifically about next year’s schedule. I guess I fall somewhere between you and Hopper on that count.

BYU football 2020 was SUPER fun to watch–like the old days in the WAC and MWC–and we had a truly great offense that I think could have scored on any P5 team, but any elite team would have carved our defense to shreds and our offense would have to be perfect to even stay in the game. So I think we had a very good team carried by a great offense with success magnified by a complete garbage schedule.

You ended with a pretty accurate summary. So… good post.

Not any different of a schedule in 1984.

So BYU got one over on the college football “authorities” despite a subpar schedule in 1984 - is that what you are saying hopper. Sure sounds like it.

Seriously Scott? That is your come back? That in 84 we did not play a single game against a lower division opponent in 1984, but we had several on the schedule this year?

Nope. Just the opposite. We won the games we were supposed to. Therefore we should have been ahead of Cincinnati and in the top 10 this year.

Who cares about the division. Many of those 1984 teams should have been in lower divisions. 1984? I feel like we are in Orwell’s 1984.
