When was the last time we were ranked in the top 10 in the past decade?
I don’t think that will happen for a couple of more years. Sataki has a great freshman and sophomore group to develop that he’s recruited. Next year will have to be a winning season like 8-4 or 9-3. In two years, 10-2 or even 11-1. He’s got a great group to work with. But, he needs to settle in on making sure better play calling by the offense is being done consistently.
Our current bishop is a cousin of Sataki and he thinks that will be the deciding factor.
I think Sitake is on notice… He will have lost to two in-state rivals multiple years straight in a row (USU 2 yrs., Utah 5yrs.).
Cougar Club donating members may not like that much longer. Money talks, Coaches walk…
That may be at most colleges. Not at BYU. You should know that
Really? You don’t think the big time donor for BYU sports have no pull? Think again… I know they do.
If money talked the coaches would be making a lot more money than they do. The Brethren will give him a huge opportunity to see what he does with his recruits. Why the “Off with his head” so quick and so much?
you do understand that BYU sports is self funded and through donation by big time Cougar club members right?
The “church” does not put money into the sports program…
If you don’t think donor influence firing of coaches, go ask Crowton, Detmer, Doman, Bosco, and many of the other sports coaches who were let go because they did not meet expectation.
You do understand the fan club doesn’t hire and fire the coaches.
Good points Floyd. I still see BYU in the American Athletic Conference or make up a new (G-5, G-6) conference and join in it, i.e.: BYU, Boise State, Colo. State, San Diego St., UTEP (especially for basketball), Nevada, Houston, Memphis, Rice, Miami (Ohio), New Mexico, and maybe Navy or Air Force or whatever. Two six team divisions. Rocky Mountain Division: BYU, Boise State, Colo. State, San Diego State, New Mexico, Nevada; Central Division: UTEP, Air Force or Colo. State, Houston, Memphis, Rice, whenever new TV contracts are available.
If Kilani is fired or leaves how about Ed Lamb as HC.I still think Kilani has a couple of years on the leach left yet.We still need our current OC and most of the others for a couple of years to see how they pan out.
