BYU’s Rugby team played Utah in Santa Clara, UT on Saturday. Since I live there, I thought I’d go see. Of course BYU took care of business in a nice way, but the head ref was apparently a Utah alum and didn’t like what he saw. Now, I don’t know much about Rugby but when 9 out of every 10 calls go against BYU it’s time to wonder. To me, it seemed a joke and I was standing next to a high school coach and listening to the crowd a bit and the general feeling was that his calls were a joke.
Take away the bad calls and the score would have been more like 75-10 instead of 50-22. Although Bball officials have called some poor games, it hasn’t come down quite to this level.
