Is Keba Keita BYU's best shot blocker ever?

In all my years of watching BYU, I have never seen a more “athletic” BYU shot blocker than Keita. I swear he is playing volleyball out there!

He is super athletic and has great timing. The UCF players didn’t like getting swatted, especially at the end of the game there. They wanted some goaltending or foul calls or something and started chipping at him. It almost led to an altercation because he was having none of it.

Those weren’t just blocked shots, they were full on rejections… in other terms he was saying “get that thing out of here” as he spiked the ball to the ground. The shots never had a chance.

I think Shawn Bradley was the greatest shot blocker ever at BYU but he played over 30 years ago for one season at the Y and I think he was 7’6”. Keita seems to be the best in the last 30 years. Greg Kite could block shots as well back in the 80s, but not like Keita.

All I can say is Wow! Keba chasing the Iowa State guy down was a thing of beauty … Keba Keita Pulled Off One of the Best Defensive Plays in BYU Basketball History

That was maybe the All time greatest defensive play in BYU basketball history.

Well, there was another block during the game at the rim. ISU player went up to dunk the ball and Keba stuffed him. That’s actually a lot harder to do. I saw Bill Russel do that to Chamberlain once. Someone tried that on Chamberlain and got his hand bent backwards in the rim. Broke the wrist. So, that block by Keba was very impressive.

Sorry guys. You will never be right as long as the Hopper can help it. I remember Danny Ainge length of the floor drive against Notre Dame in the NCAA tourney as the greatest offensive play in BYU basketball history. He went around every player on that one drive.

Now Hopper will say it wasn’t the greatest play ever…

In a word, Kiba is our best all time

Are you losing your mind? What does that have to do with the game. I think it’s much more difficult to stuff a dunk when the dunker is in good position. Why do you think the other one was great? The hustle was great for sure.

And, why would I object to Ainge’s play as the best play ever?

Just curious if you ever read your post before posting?

I think they would call your post a “Word Salad”… :open_mouth:

Jim likes to get flowery with his wording and connect multiple thoughts together. So, who is the word salad king?

Bradley had 177 blocks his freshman year… Keita has 37 this year.

If you are talking about all-around best center, then you might be right.

Bradly could also shoot better than Keba.
Did Bradly ever regain any mobility after his accident?

HMMMMM, i STAND corrected.
No, Bradley will never walk again, broken spine

Elon Musk is close to giving back walking to spinal injuries and the blind to see. But, he’s Satan’s demon…

No, I wouldn’t say Bradley was the best all around center. That would be Cosic hands down.
