Is Trump finished? He was tag teamed by ABC and Harris which is despicable. It was even worse than when Romney was tag teamed by Candy Crowley and Obama. That said Trump still could have salvaged a draw even with a 3 on 1 disadvantage because Harris did nothing but attack Trump with the moderators prompting her frequently and falsely fact checking Trump. The Federalist documented 25 lies Harris told and she was not once fact checked by the moderators. They falsely fact checked Trump on several occasions and then asked Harris to respond. Trump should have done what most smart politicians do. He should have deflected rather than reacted and then attacked Harris based on her terrible record and then pointed out his successes as president. Harris never had to defend herself or explain her policy reversals. Nobody knows anything more about her than they did before the debate unless they have followed politics for a number of years.

Trump debated like he was speaking at one of his rallies with his adoring followers. He was set up and took the bait and lost his cool and got caught up in talking about the size of his rallies and Haitians eating dogs and cats. No undecided voter cares anything about that stuff. In fact it is a turnoff.

Again the media creation Harris escapes getting exposed for what she is. She got her start in politics by sleeping with Willie Brown and is the nominee because Biden insisted on a woman of color as a VP. She is a DEI nominee who never won a single primary and was knocked out of the 2020 race because nobody liked her. The media and her party have done a masterful makeover and kept her past, her real positions, and her unlikable personality concealed from
low information voters.

Any Republican who doesn’t insist on a debate scenario where each candidate gets to choose a moderator shouldn’t be debating unless Fox hosts one debate and one of the other networks another debate. One of the moderators (the male prostitute) was documented to have reported 100% positive on Harris and 93% negative on Trump in his reporting prior to the debate. One of Harris’ best friends is an executive at ABC and introduced her to her husband. Trump currently has a lawsuit against ABC. He was a fool to agree to a debate on that network. I think he got cocky because he destroyed a corpse. Harris isn’t that smart but proves she can look better than Trump with a lot of help from her media friends and Trump himself.

Many times Trump does not explain himself well. The story isn’t about dogs and cats being eaten. The story is Harris’s bad border policies has allowed destructive illegal aliens who won’t assimilate into our countries morals and ethics are now killing our pets. The moderators, media, social media and Democrats have made it about eating dogs and cats. Protect your pets.

I would prefer an “open house” type debate (not sure what they call it) where “the people” ask questions to the candidates and for once, they are not preapproved questions.

It would be interesting to see how the candidates respond to real questions.

Almost anything would be preferable to the current format where moderators interject themselves into the debate. It isn’t their business to be fact checkers. The candidates can fact check each other and the public can judge for themselves and do their own research. Harris’ and Trump’s record and statements can be found online and reviewed. Almost none of the professional fact checkers are reliable either. Nearly all of them lean heavily to the left. Forget Snopes it is garbage. A person should read the words themselves and make their your own conclusions.

What you are talking about is a town hall debate. I think that is fine if the audience is an equal mix of Democrat, Republican, and independent voters and moderators keep their mouths shut.

A moderator should pose questions, period,
and then get out of the way and be almost invisible. It should be extremely rare for a moderator to do anything but pose a question and it isn’t their job to fact check a candidate. There should be strict rules for moderators. Ask questions and then shut up.

Moderated debates would be fine if there is one moderator who asks each candidate the same question based on policy issues important to serious voters. Those issues could be mutually agreed upon prior to the debate.

the VP debate exposed Harris as making a HUGE mistake making Waltz her choice. Waitz came across as a serial liar. All JD Vance had to do was show he was likable and not the monster the media made him out to be. I wanna be his next door neighbor after that debate.

The separation between Trump and Harris will show up later this week and it won’t even be close. Too bad they had started early voting because I am sure many people would love to change their vote.

I hope you are right. With the Middle East blowing up and no end in sight to the Russia/Ukraine conflict and now a longshoreman strike that will blow up the economy if Biden won’t intervene, which he could do under Taft Hartley, in any sane country the Democrats would be out in an epic landslide like the two Reagan elections. Unfortunately a lot has changed since the 80s.

I would say “generally” you are correct, people in the past have always looked at how they are doing and vote for the person that helped make their lives easier.

However, this time period is not “normal”, we have a highly polarized environment, Trump is probably the most polarizing person running for President ever, including Obama. People either like him or hate him, not much in between. Even some of his former supporters are now working for Harris.

Instead of focusing on the issues you bring up, what does Trump do? Name calling, personal attacks. His VP has focused on these issues, but not so much Trump.

January 6th, right or wrong is going to be a factor in these elections, the economy will be an important factor as well. But my fear is that people will vote for Harris because of how much they dislike Trump on a personal level.

Personally, I try to not look at personalities, because politicians are liars by nature. I always look at what hits me on a personal level.

Jeb Bush was personally attacked by Trump during the 2016 primary:

Communication Style: Well, I find slick politicians then on both sides of the issue. Bush was no clearly understandable communicator. He was often said his language was not that of an educated person. Democrats made fun of his mistakes when he spoke as well. Then, there’s Biden and his new language of Bidenese. All the times him and Hillary have called 50% of the country deplorables and worse. Remember that dark red speech Biden made to the country? I’m happy with someone being honest and blunt when they speek. I guess you like the pretty language of lies and deceits. Hypocrites.
Policy Decisions: What’s controversial about shutting down the border to illegal trespassing into the United States of America? What’s wrong with sending lawbreakers back to their country of origin? What’s wrong with asking Mexico to control the flow of illegal migration by protecting their border crossing in both the north and south borders of Mexico? What’s wrong with keeping killers, gangs, drugs out of the U.S.? What’s wrong with making other countries pay for our protections (NATO) and our business with them? What’s wrong with getting Islamic nations to recognize Israel’s right to exist and open normal business and negotiations with Israel? What’s wrong with 4 years of peace in the middle east with no new wars against Israel? Media Relations: This is really rich. Trump caused the contentious relationship? You’ve got to be kidding! For years Trump kept the media making money as they attacked him personally, professionally and politically. It’s been clearly proven that the “Media” is 95% against Trump except for Fox News and The New York Post. Trump has done many interviews with his contentious media who have worked hard to support the Democrats attempting to put him in jail and continue to do so. I guess you didn’t see the two debates where the moderators were so obviously contentious and nasty with Trump and Vance.
Social Issues: Nonsense on all of that. Total garbage. The media and Democrats on the words he’s used have lied about these and this had been proven over and over. What Trump is, is an apostate Democrat liberal. They hate him because he does what is needed and not what the political mouths want. He can’t be bought by the LGBTQ or Race Baiters in the Black communities.
Legal and Ethical Controversies: Nothing your Democrat members haven’t done. You forget how they ripped Romney. I’m talking about the media and Democrat politicians. The judicial proceedings including the fake attempts to impeach him are all fake manufactured lies and you know it.
The only one’s who are polarizing are the Democrats and their media. They caused his responses by lying and attacking. He’s finally one who stands up to your Democrats and your media. 2020 Election: Do you think the 2016 Election was stolen like Hillary, Kerry, Bill, and many other Democrats do? How about the 2000 Election. Did Bush really win or did Gore win as he still claims today. Hillary just came out with a new book, on tour, still claiming she won the election. There is nothing wrong with someone claiming they were cheated out of winning. We say that in here every time BYU loses a game because of the referees. I have no problem with Hillary making that claim and trying to prove it. Why would anyone object? The fact is, Trump left the White House on January 20th, 2021. If he was a threat to democracy, then he would have stayed. Harris and the Democrats attempts to silence free speech, freedom of religion and the right to bear arms is the greatest threat to our Constitutional Republic.

I would never teach my kids to act like Trump-juvenile and nauseous. However, I could never vote for Harris as the standard Democrat nonsense is mostly what don’t believe in. So like others I will hold my nose and vote, and wondered what happened to this great country that I helped protect while many were running to Canada or burning flags and draft cards Absolutely disgusting
