I’m going to say this. It is not a Rivalry or Holy War anyjmore. Hope both sides will behave themselves. The winner of this game will get (or keep) Kyle Whitingham.
Disagree! It’s still the rivalry! Especially after Emery’s altercation in basketball.
I can see those drivers going south on I-15 with their Y/U flags on their car. Road rage!
And from the west too!!! My son and I are going to try and get tickets.
SG: I guess many people who live in Utah see the U vs. the Y as a “rivalry.” As an out of stater I don’t want to play Utah unless it is on a New Years’ Six Bowl or the NC playoffs. The further the two schools and their fans stay away from each other the better.I believe that the NCAA stays away from any regulation of bowls except for their favorite P-5 teams like Notre Dame, Ohio State and others. But I see ESPN behind this match up. It is a ploy to get ratings manufactured by ESPN and the story makers of the media. Personally I would rather play another team other than Utah. But the media controls things these days. I don’t like how the hate generates a so called rivalry.
Honestly, I really don’t understand when people shy away from rivalries. It’s always exciting! Utah ended up with a better record than USC. And we already played UCLA. CAL doesn’t interest anyone and those entities involved have to make money to put on the event. BYU vs Utah is big!
Anyone else notice that the LV Bowl sponsor is Royal Purple and every 3rd grader knows that Red + Blue = Purple
Still laughing. Poor Utah has fallen all the way down into playing wantabee BYU. Still laughing.
Win or lose, BYU will not end up with Whittingham. There’s no way he would give up all the advantages he has to coach at BYU. And in any case it would be viewed as a step down. I’m interested to see who they find. I don’t see many good choices so my guess is it will be another promotion from within.
