Jaxson Dart at BYU?

In light of all the discussion about the Wilson boys and their little brother coming in here to defend them against nothing… (should be over on cougarboard) I had a thought about another potential BYU recruit who went elsewhere.

Dart started at USC and I guess things weren’t working there so he transferred to Mississippi where he has had some pretty good success. Like I think he is probably a potential NFL player as a result of his growth and development at Ole Miss.

So my question is this, could he have had the same success at BYU? I sort of have mixed feeling about it. Like I think he could have but I also don’t really know because I don’t know if BYU is in a position right now where they really develop QB’s that much. I think Retzlaff has improved but then sometimes I watch him and I think he really hasn’t. I don’t see him playing after college because he is erratic and makes poor decisions still. There is no flow or rhythm to the offense and I see that as a problem with the OC and QB.

So does Dart make it at BYU or would it have been a problem for him?

Is this another thread to trash talk Arod?
The fact is, Arod has a couple of QBs that have played some in the NFL.
Also, are QB’s have spent a lot of time in Southern California getting extra training from John Beck. So, seems like Retzlaff can have a chance as well. He has to get better at his touch passes and bombs as well. I think he has another year to do that.

I don’t think Dart is a good fit for BYU culturally and standards-wise. Just from how he has handled himself at his other portal stops.

The last thing we need is an arrogant jerk. Especially one who has been quick to bail to another school via the portal (and yet again, if he hypothetically came here).

I’m okay with that. I don’t know much about him, but I will probably be chastised by his little brother now for asking…

:joy:

Dart went to Kiffin. Huge difference in fb knowledge between Lane and ARid! Jaxon wouldn’t have ever come here with our current OC!

Wasn’t there a reason he didn’t even entertain the idea of looking at BYU?

Somewhere in the recesses of mind, I remember him not being high on BYU.
