Looks like (with Big 12 commissioner’s help) that conferences will be allowed to make their own rules for championship games and thus the Big 12 (for example) would not need to expand to have a championship game. Humongous challenge for the Y to stay nationally relevant year after year without the ability to upgrade coaching and talent.
