Now an Oregon State player gets knocked to the ground by Utah’s center; there is no call on the play, even though it happened right in front of the ref. The OSU player then blatantly trips the offending ref, who goes down. Larry Krysco’s team gets the foul shots to go ahead and the momentum to close out the game. http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/story/_/id/14597771/jarmal-reid-oregon-state-beavers-suspended-minimum-4-games-tripping-ref . Krysco has no comment on whether we should no longer have officials in NCAA games, since this incident clearly shows that basketball is unsafe for officials. Heeheeheehee. Krysco is such a total tool. I’m still laughing about the whole thing.
Makes me think of an 80’s band called “men without hats” and they did a song called the “safety dance”. I think the cheerleaders should do a routine to that song at halftime of every game for the Utes the rest of the way. Also, if you have seen the video for the song it is set in an Old England type situation and the characters form the letter “S” when they are doing the safety dance. That has to be included in there.
Here is a link if you haven’t seen it.
Absolutely a necessary thing if Krystowhack is concerned about the safety of his players.
Hahahaha, Jim, you do know that Safety Dance is code word for…?
I watched the series of plays in the incident, and the OSU player was doing some nice fouling on Poetel before being knocked on the ground by Utah…
Again in both instances… NO CALL!.. To me that is what causes “punches to the gut” and “tripping of the official”, because the officials are not consistent and fair…
But yea, I loved that Coach Kris… was upset that “his player” got hammered, but not when his player was doing the hammering… LOL
Krysco is totally disingenuous.
A BYU fan and friend of Jim and I (goes to my ward) was visiting his Utah fan daughter last week. Apparently up there they think Emery committed a felony and should be in jail. No kidding! That’s the rediculous crap being thrown around by their coach and fans. And our friend was believing them.
When he said that I start laughing quietly as we were getting ready for Sacrament Meeting to commence. Afterwards I said to him the guy flopped. After the T was granted he got up and there was nothing wrong with him and no marks on him. I also said that the Utard player then should also be charged with a misdemeanor for the elbow to the chest prior to the punch and the conspiracy for aiding and abetting the whole incident. And the coach and AD should also be charged as they probably orchestrated the whole thing just to be able to cancel playing us again. It all smells!
Sounds like a conspiracy to me.
