I would watch, but I cannot support an organization that would offend a billion people personal religious views to make a statement.

I agree with you Floyd but I think we just have to acknowledge that the world is a treacherous offering right now and do what we can to support the good. I think watching Jimmer play 3 on 3 basketball fits that category.

How and why the people in charge have made the conscious decisions to do what they are doing is beyond me. Keep pressing forward doing good.

Agreed. Floyd is willing to let Harris the champion of hating Christians and Jews because of Trump who would never support France and NBC. He’s put tariffs on France and fine NBC. But he’s a meanie.

Athletes have nothing to do with Paris France and their stupidity. I’m cheering for Olympians

What a boring life you must have. All those athletes that put lots of time, effort and money into being the very best and you snub them because of what France and the IOC did? I blame NBC for showing any of it. Other than that part, I thought the opening was brilliant and a great change from the past opening ceremonies. So, holier than thou…

Floyd, you’re entitled to make decisions to watch or not, of course. Ignore the name calling by H
(boring life, holier than thou) Typical. Can’t just stick with the issue. Notice no-one else went immediately to name-calling.

Me? I might watch some, but nowhere near what I would usually. And part of that is the slap in my face. I do hope they have much lower ratings - Money talks. If NBC loses a ton, they might get the message and “work with” IOC to make sure it doen’t happen again.

You really should re-read before posting. So much wrong. Typical you can answer a public statement like Floyd’s but I cannot? Censorship is really in your vocabulary. I am correct in saying what I did to stop useless censorship.
Now, you are partially right about the money thing. But, NBC wants to make money by showing the Olympics. They should explain to Los Angeles that in 4 years, if California does anything like that, they will not show it on air. NBC is solely responsible for showing that. Boycotts sometimes have affect. But why wreck the athletes? Many of them are Christians.

I get your point, makes sense.
Watching and rooting for America

NBC is a leftwing media pushing hack. They don’t care because many around the world will still watch through NBC. Just like CNN.

I have never really been an Olympic watcher, I do watch some of the track and field events, because I did that in High School.

Never ever watch basketball, because the “professionals” have taken over. My wife likes Gymnastics, so I am stuck watching that.

In the past, I might have watched maybe 10 hours of the games, I have far better things to do than watch the Olympics, one of those things is “fishing”… Can’t beat the outdoors, fighting trout and a good dinner afterwards. :open_mouth:

I guess I am stuck with the 2034 winter games, since they are in SLC that year. I might volenteer if my health permits.

You have no idea what my life is like, so stop with the bulls****. I do things that I enjoy, I have a mountain retreat where I can watch Moose, deer, hawks and eagles. I prefer being with family, then watching some games.

I do understand the time and effort the athletes put into their sport, I did track and field in high school. I actually lettered in Track, which is kind of amazing since I am slow white guy that when I run, they use the sun dial to time me, because it is most accurate.

But unlike you, hopper, I do live my life according to the standards of the gospel as I understand them. I stand up for when something is wrong. Anyone that knows me well, knows that I speak the truth as I see it, regardless of the consequences, I don’t do facades, I dislike those that do. I am who the Good Lord made me out to be.

Anyone that actually knows me, would never ever say I am “Holier than thou”, because for the most part, I truly believe, I was born in hell, raised in hell and probably going to end up in hell!

So, don’t pretend you think you know who I am…

You mean like who you think I am? I could have written much of what you did. Glad to see your better half understands and watches some of it. Like you, I have other things to do as well. I like the gymnastics as well as track and field. Other than basketball finals, I’m also not interested in watching a lot of the other stuff.
Try to watch that judging of others and language.

Anyone happen to watch France vs. Japan basketball game?

I actually thought the officials were going to be fair and impartial as Japan was taking it to the French, going toe to toe and outplaying the femme French. With a 4 point lead and 10 seconds left Japan was called for a foul on 3 point make by France and tied the game. Reminded me of the US team many years ago against Russia. This was a completely bad call by a female official (no doubt trying to be fair and help give the Frenchies a chance) and it allowed France to tie the game. Overtime was a joke as France pulled away for the easy win. Also, Japan’s best player, Hachimura, was ejected after two “unsportsmanlike” foul calls… not technical fouls, unsportsmanlike fouls.

You see, this is what I abhor about the Olympics… the favoritism to the host country. In any other Olympics, France would not be nearly as successful as they have been so far. It ruins the excitement and fun for the rest of the world and gives the French the mistaken belief that they are all that.

did not see it going to U tube to watch then end…Japan robbed

USA vs. Serbia
jimmer kept them in it til Barry got called for a flagrant foul, elbow to the nose. Serbia his 1 of 2 from the FT then ball out and hits a 3 (2 pts). Serbia goes up 4, game over.

Serbia smallest player, 6’6. USA has only one player over 6’6 but Jimmer said after the game that USA actually wants opposing teams to take close shots (count as 1 pt in 3x3) but Serbia never missed inside. Serbia is favored to win gold, USA 2nd

USA bricked shots. Jimmer missed a gimmie layup. Serbia hit their outside shots as well.

Injury to Jimmer and USA loses 5 in a row
