Once Biden is gone. Who will be the nominee?

Here’s the problems with your reasoning. True politicians don’t believe a thing about fairness. They desire to make their political careers very lucrative with filthy lucre based on their beliefs. In the case of the left, being for the usual socialism that gets themselves wealthy at the expense of others who are on the right side of Conservatives. Like Pelosi, a Russian oligarch type.

Reagan came from a different angle and not a typical politician. Once a Democrat, he saw what Democrats were up to wanting to turn America into Russia. Became Republican and more conservative. When he negotiated with Democrats, he did so from a position of strength to move the country back to the right. Not the center, to the right. As far as he could. Just like Obama did moving the country as far left as possible. Bush Republicans helped him do that.

Cox is no Reagan. He’s a Bush Republican. One who allows Democrats to slowly move Utah to the left and help the Democrats move the country to the left. Off the cliff. Open eyes! Tell me Utah isn’t by far more left that it was 30 years ago?

The real issue is that the voters won’t vote for people who believe in fair and balance approach, no they just want to throw up their hands and say you can’t do anything about it.

BTW, I do not believe you, I know of several “true” politicians that still think that we need to come to a fair outcome, Trumpers call them RINO’s.

I laughed my arse off on this comment. Utah is Right to far right, we are one of the reddest states in America. It has more republican registered per Capata than the US does.
Out of the 29 counties, only two lean Blue (Salt Lake City area and Duchesne County). 92% of the legislature is Republican, EVERY US Senate and House is republican, every major political position in Utah is Republican except for the Salt Lake County and City mayor.

But you think Cox is somehow allowing democrats move in Utah. Delusional as usual.

“Statewide, Utah still votes red, with 58.1% of registered voters casting ballots for Donald Trump’s reelection bid in 2020 and 53.2% voting for U.S. Sen. Mike Lee in 2022. But the statewide percentage of voters favoring the GOP has decreased over time — about 13% since 2000 and 20.1% since 2012.Feb 29, 2024” - Salt Lake Tribune
I rest my case…Those who think they can play both ends between good and evil will eventually lose out to the evil. An entire book was written and published in 1830 called The Book of Mormon that explains how evil creeps in. Evil is patient. Just wait until more and more want to balance good with evil and evil then eventually gains full control. We are witnessing this nationwide and now worldwide. Yet, here we have you still wanting to make deals with the devil.

So, give us your definition of what you think "fair’ is? Please explain.

First the SL Trib is anti-Republican
Second, according to State of Utah Website:
There are registered ‘active’ democrats: 232466 and total of 276,705
There are registered ‘active’ republicans: 902,004 and total of 995,372
There are registered ‘active’ “unaffiliated” 482,145 with a total 584,027

Of those independent voters, 85% of them lean right on most political issues.

So, the unaffiliated voter is the second largest voting bloc. Which in pretty much most of middle US.

I don’t play both ends between the middle, I believe strongly that until the voters has stood up and said enough with the party line voting, nothing will change, people whine but won’t do a dam thing about it.
Both parties are corrupt, one is no better than the other, because both parties care about three things 1) power 2) money and 3) staying in control!

Both parties will lie, twist and turn facts around to match what they want the voters to believe and the fact that most voters are too stupid or lazy or blinded do their own research to verify what is being told is actual truth. This makes it so easy for both parties to convince the voters that their party is “good” while the other party is “evil”.

The SL Tribune is anti-Republican is not the issue. But, you think it supports your argument. It doesn’t.
Yep, lot’s more Democrats than in the past. Lot less LDS in percentage as well than in the past too. Getting more and more blue. We know in the last days that the division will be greater between the church of God and the church of the Devil. Good and Evil will be more divided. If you draw out the platforms of both parties and put them side by side, it cannot be more clear what church the Democrat Party has become a member and supporter of. It’s also more clear that the Republican Party is more aligned with the church of God. However, there are wolves in sheepskins who seek to confuse the righteous and destroy the church of God and those that align with it. The two parties are anything but equal in corruption or what they push as good. So, any vote for Harris or RFK or Donald Duck or no vote is helping the church of the Devil along.

should be the end of that discussion really.

you actually read the paper, you would understand my comment, but go ahead and think what you want.

CAN YOU READ?
The State population is 2.1 million people.
Of that, 58% are Republicans
About 30% are independent that lean right
But most important, Utah is 85% LDS!

So, please stop with Utah going Blue, it will NEVER happen!

I believe in following what the Prophet says! He has told us to tone down the heat on political debates, he has told us to “Think Celestial”, which I am still trying to figure out how to do that with my A type personality.

53% for the Republican candidate isn’t a huge majority. And, leaning right doesn’t mean all independents are conservatives. More like 55-45. It’s getting blue there with a party that supports killing babies, men competing against women, chopping of sex parts of bodies of children and adults, higher taxation, single payer healthcare, a godless America, limit the 1st Amendment, term limits for the Supreme Court and make it political, support Iran creating war in the Middle East and getting Russia more weapons to kill Ukraine while giving Ukraine weapons to fight back keeping the war going. I could list a lot more that Democrats want that in no way should there be compromise. Yet, Utah goes bluer by the day.
Studies in 2020 say 60.68% are LDS. But new studies show far less.
According to a paper published in the Journal of Religion and Demography in December 2023, about 42% of Utahns identify as members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS church), also known as Mormons. This is lower than previous media reports that cited a percentage of around 60% in 2020. The study’s lead author, Ryan T. Cragun, says that the LDS church’s numbers are not reliable because the church counts members as anyone who’s been baptized, even if they are excommunicated or ask to have their name removed. The study’s authors wanted to know how many Utahns would say they are Latter-day Saints if asked, and estimate that between 38.3% and 45.7% of Utah’s population identifies as Latter-day Saint.

Floyd, wake up!

This is not true Floyd. You need to research a little further. I have seen several articles that state otherwise. Also, those who identify as LDS are not even close to the majority. I can link a dozxen articles and information that says so. You may see a lot of churches around and your PERCEPTION may be that it is 85% LDS but that is just not the case.

https://www.abc4.com/news/wasatch-front/utah-is-no-longer-majority-mormon-new-research-says/

Just more indication of what is going on… lots of Korihors leading people astray, fulfilment of prophecy, no surprise.

Jim,
First I never believe what “articles” says… unless they have the data to back them up.

But you are right, the number is not 85%, but I was referring to those that are LDS or lean very heavily to the LDS side of life. Which I now see, I needed to make clearer.

According to PEW Institute research,
73% identify as “Christian”
58% of which identify as LDS
22% unaffiliated of any religious beliefs.

Adults in Utah - Religion in America: U.S. Religious Data, Demographics and Statistics | Pew Research Center

See, Jim this is my main issue with most people, they take what the media says as truth and fail to do their own research.

Media outlets lie and spin the truth to what they want you to believe. It does not matter if it is a left- or right-wing media outlet, they all do the same thing.

Pew institute has proven over the years to be neutral in their postings, they simple relay the facts of the information they gathered.

Here is an interesting fact:
Even though only 58% of the population identify as LDS, about 85% (truth be told, it probably closer to 90%) of the State Legislators are considered to be “conservative or Moderate”. I can’t think of a single far-right person. Very few in the State legislature are considered far left or extreme liberal. We do have our liberals, but they are more in the moderate to a little far left.

From my viewpoint, which again is how I see things only, this tells me that the majority of Utahan’ voters are what you might call conservative. Our state is not turning blue, like someone posted, but we are about as red as you can get. That comes with it own set of issues, but that is for another post.

So, only your PEW research is accurate? Not the one Jim showed and many others agree with. Funny that you look for something that doesn’t still prove your point yet you still think 90% are LDS.

Actually in that post he is talking about 90% of the state Legislators are considered to be conservative or moderate. That is simple reading comprehension. It is really something you could benefit from. It would help make your opinions and arguments more relatable and believable.

Now if you want to talk about Idaho changing, here is an article about how a group of democrats moving to a small town in Northern Idaho.

California retirees flocking to small Idaho town, prompting concerns about ‘liberal baggage’: ‘Wait a minute’ (msn.com)

I have a cabin, near a small town in Utah, I would hate to see this happening there.

It’s happening!

Yeah, they are socialists with golden parachutes who worked government jobs, retired early and are now living the high life. It is a model that cannot sustain and shows how tough it can get when government gets too big.

People are fleeing this state in droves… We are still here but it gets harder every day to survive. If that is what the american people really want then all they have to do is vote democrat because that is what the party represents now.

And people think we should negotiate with them. Like we should negotiate with Iran.

I have friends that live pretty close to where you are (I think, geography never one of my better subjects) around Fresno area. They feel the same way.

Been trying to talk my wife into selling the house and move full time to the cabin, where traffic is not a mess, and I get to enjoy nature. Her response? “Too far from the grand kids”. UGH!

But, I bet they vote party line right down the line…

You would lose that bet…

Most of them are Republican (which from my understanding is most of the people who live in the eastern side of California). One is even a Trumper.

California is blue as can be. There are pockets of conservatives like in Orange County. But, Democrats vote party line regardless of how bad it’s getting for them. Why did you talk about Republicans? My comment was specific to Democrats who know things are bad. Those who move from California because of Democrat policies still vote Democrat in their new state. They can’t shake stupid.
