This is what he said:
“We want it all this year. We want to go in there and win the Big 12 and dominate every game and win a national championship. … I feel like we are going to be a great team. I think we got a really high ceiling,” he said. “I wouldn’t be surprised if we are in those playoffs fighting for a national championship.”
If the QB has learned how to game manage, make sound decisions and not get all worked up and lose his cool, then BYU has a chance. Retzlaff is the key.
Jake is simply not accurate enough in the passing dept to lead BYU to a Big12 championship. He is a wild card and one that will provide 1-2 loses that the program normally wouldn’t have with a better QB.
On another note our Russian PG is a true talent but not ready for the NBA and if he goes he will not make it at that level. He needs massive work on his dribbling and about 20 lbs of muscle
I do think Jake improves his game significantly.. Everyone remembers the end of our first few games when Satake came out with some harsh harsh words for Jake hold onto the freaking ball. Remember that?
This will be the first year where the team is 100% his and he knows he has a lot of good talent around him So he knows he doesn’t have to do as much
As for Demin. The nba likes long guys that can pass. And they don’t play very much defense until the last three minutes of a game. And they don’t need scoring. They already have for other high caliber scorers on each team. I think he will do just fine given 23 years in the league. But personally, I think you’re right he needs one more year.
