Sold out fb games

Disconcerted to learn that the Y has sold out only 7 games of the last 25 games, since independence began. I don’t think there is a doubt that attendance has fallen due to the performance on the field NOT independent status. If we have a subpar season and attendance dips yet again, either BM will resign or be fired.

Hard to sell out some of the homes games we have as well. Seems like it would be more fun to spend season ticket money on one road trip to a big game then tickets to all the home games we have scheduled. Excited for a few of the homes games scheduled for the future but nothing really this year.

But will the P-5 big boys live up to their contracts and come to LES in Provo? That is the question!
And I am not talking about Georgia Tech, UCONN, Miss. State, or Cincinnati. It’s more like ND, Michigan and
Missouri. Let’s see what happens. UCLA has come in once, as has Texas so far, but no Notre Dame, and we have yet to see or Michigan or Wisconsin.

I would say it had more to do with the quality of opponents coming to LES, especially late in the season when the weather turns cold. Savannah State? Really? I understand the difficulty Tom had these first few years of independence, but that’s low even for an FCS program. Even when we haven’t had a great season I don’t miss games against good teams at home.

I don’t expect Notre Dame to fulfill their end of the contract. Their circumstance changed. I do expect to see Michigan and possibly Missouri. Time will tell. Even so, the home games are looking better on future schedule.

Home game vs Weber State does not sell tickets.
Home game vs Idaho does not sell tickets.0
Home game vs Idaho State does not sell tickets.
Home game vs. Savanna State does not sell tickets.
Home game vs. Wagner does not sell tickets.
Home game vs. Fresno State does not sell tickets.
Home game vs any FCS teams do not sell tickets.
Home game vs. #111 UCON does not sell tickets.
Regardless of what the reason, and regardless of who’s fault it is, just say NO to scheduling games vs. FCS teams.

Sell out all seats vs any P5 conference team.

Cassius,

Point at hand, I have my tickets, all at 8 rolls up from the field, between 20 and 30 yard line, but closer to the 30 yard line, via Stub Hub, at the $150 per seat range for the games vs Nebraska, Boise State and UCLA.
I am having a big TV dinner football party for all neighbors that will come and cheer on for our BYU Cougars vs Michigan State. We will be watching that game on our 80” surround sound TV theater.

Depending on the outcome of those 3 games, I may or may not travel to the Missouri game.

I purchased the Boise State tickets while Boise State was rated #22 in the Nation, but has since dropped to #31.

I may go to the Cinncinnatti game. That game will be close and fun, and nobody knows who will win that game before it is played.

I have no interest in going to a game that we know the outcome before playing # 155 FCS Wagner; #111 Ucon; #97 San Jose State; #84 Fresno State; #77 E.Carolina or even #65 Utah State.

So why are we not selling out our home games???

While getting good tickets may not be the only good reason for being a Cougar Club Member, I believe that their membership drive is threatened and weakened by the lack of a decent second half of the season. While I believe that we have the best top half of our schedule in School history, I also believe that our bottom half of the schedule is among the worst in our school history; Over all, we are either the very best of the G5 teams or the very worse of the P5 teams. It is a call to close for comfort while trying to impress those in power, that we are a P5 quality team.

tx coug,

ND did come to Provo in Crowton’s final year at BYU.
We won that game vs. ND.
Crowton was fired at that game in front of 64000+ fans.
I was embarrassed. Our AD fired him.

Awe yes, how sweet the retribution must have been
as Crowton took the Cougars to Cal Berkley while our AD
was HC there and we killed the Bears and we humiliate the Bears
and it’s HC which got fired and came to BYU as our AD
and had the pleasure of firing Gary Crowton.

So yes, ND did come to Provo and probably never will again.
