That is a great win!

Shot better in the second half. Defense was better too. Fischer had a great game and KC had a great second half.
Davis missed a layup but had a good game.
Austin played really well.
Kaufusi played well too.
Emery and Sejlass had tough games but Emery’ s 3 was big! But hit the free throw.
Others chipped in but we got lucky at the end.
One big stat made the difference. Only 2 turnovers in the second half. That was big!

KC stepped up and did what a senior leader is supposed to do. Okay, so I forgive him for the obsession with the triple doubles because it obviously didn’t matter in this game. He did everything he needed to…

Austin was great because he knows his role and he played it.

Fischer was fine, he made a beautiful drive and reverse layup but followed that up with a poorly forced 3 attempt. No matter… he recognized the dumb play and got his head back in it and played team ball.

BYU was lucky at the end and for once… in a blue moon, the refs didn’t give it to Gonzaga. Although they tried somewhat with the traveling call on KC, they let em’ play and Austin’s block and hustle play at the end sealed the win.

Good game and they should have won by more. The truth about Gonzaga is they just aren’t that good and they are being exposed.

pft.t.t.t.t.t.t.t.t.t.t.t.t.t.t and the air is gone… from the Gonzaga WCC conspiracy…

The air is not gone… they are a pretty bad team. With Karnowski there is no doubt BYU would have lost the game.

As bad as Gonzaga is… they were right there till the end. Look at the free throw attempts… and absolutely NO inside game tonight.

Explain that one…

You guys need to watch the game with a little bit more insight.

Had we shot our normal 3’s percentage we would have won even with their big guy. What you are missing is both teams played excellent defense. Like two top teams should. Harold’s right

hold on Harold, there was sooo much home cooking in that game, I don’t know where to start. The only time we had fair calling was the last 2 minutes of the game.

If it weren’t for some fearless stud cougs out there, this game was lost.

Our 3 primary post players tonight–Kaufusi, Austin and Davis–were all fantastic on D. Every one of them altered shots. Wiltjer didn’t score 35 in the paint, that’s for sure. PS Wiltjer is SOOOOOOO good. Very composed. Fischer played within himself (for the most part) and has for 5 or 6 games. Our freshmen all had a tough time out there. And I no matter what I ever think of KC, I keep coming back to this, which I have posted here for years: he is one of the toughest dudes to ever don a BYU jersey. That was sheer force of will out there.

no doubt KC is becoming legend before our eyes. ESPN was gushing over him as the POY and if he keeps it up, he could give it a scare. Making a jumper 3 with the game on the line sure turned everyone’s head.

Wiljer would have had 50 if Kyle was not guarding him. Sabonis may be a lottery pick but he has always been a hothead and BYU was in his head all night. Emery getting that big rebound while getting the Russian his 4th was huge.

I was thinking at the half that we had too many TOs to win but that was cleaned up in the second half and I saw some pretty good defense and unselfish ball out there.

Game ball to Austin- his hustle, unexpected baskets and those monster swats.

Pure nonsense…

How about that 3 pointer!

What do you mean “pure nonsense”?

I agree with everything that Chris said, as I do most of the time. Are you jealous because he knows what he is talking about as well and provides some insight beyond posting the stats?

All things being equal, if they have Karnowski in there BYU loses… just admit it. Half the reason BYU won is that they got into Sabonis and got him in foul trouble. That was an officiating gaff for sure… they called way too many fouls on BYU so they had to make up for it and Sabonis was the goat. He got a ticky tack call or two to go with his obvious fouls and he was done.

I also agree with what Tom said but I don’t think the defense by Davis was very good at all. I think Austin played well and KC is KC. He stepped up like a senior with experience should. Another thing that hasn’t been mentioned is the maturity of Fischer. Outside of a couple plays he was great so no complaints there. He has been very consistent because he is playing less selfishly, just like Chris said.

Now if you can just read what some of the more astute fans have posted here you will be on the right track yourself…
