Something happened recently that’s been on my mind, and I wanted to share it.
I have a friend I’ve known since second grade, though we didn’t really connect until seventh. He’s going through an incredibly tough time right now—life has hit him hard. I won’t share the details, but it’s been rough.
My wife and I were talking about it and decided to invite him over to watch the BYU game with us. He’s been a die-hard fan for decades—held season tickets for over 30 years until this season. We figured a night with friends, cheering on his team (on an 84” screen, no less), might lift his spirits.
But it also got me thinking…
There’s so much division and anger in the world right now. What if we each made a small effort to reach out to a friend and invite them to watch the game, add a little joy, and a reminder that someone cares?
We can’t fix everything. But we can brighten someone’s day. Sometimes, all it takes is an invite to watch the game.
Just a thought.
