are you guys not shocked that the big 12 only has 3 teams in the top 25, last year, there were six or seven in the top 25 to start the year

Sadly I am not very surprised at this point…last year was a down year for the conference and it was basically coasting on reputation.
This year the preseason was based on reputation and excitement about transfer players mostly.
This year on the court has been dismal.
When most of the league makes a practice of sub-300 out of conference strength of record the games against the big names take outsized importance…and when only a few teams are willing to schedule them except for the MTE or the Big East B12 challenge the level of competition just naturally subsides.
Hopefully this year will be the wakeup call the new expanded B12 needs to stop saying we are the best basketball league in the nation and actually start acting like it.

Last year the preseason bugged me when Pope nuked the pre-conference schedule…but first year B12…ok…???
This year Young nuked the pre-conference schedule…first year coaching in NCAA…ok???
Next year plenty of teams in the 100-200 category that will be better competition and better preparation for stronger teams that inevitably show up at the top of a top tier conference.
