Transfers of import

We are not talking about me; we are discussing how you react to people… Keep focus here.

I have no issue with people expressing their opinions—it’s how they do it that makes all the difference.

When you share your perspective, you seem to believe it’s the only valid way to see the issue at hand. If someone disagrees, it quickly becomes personal, as if you are the ultimate authority on righteousness and any dissent is unacceptable.

Jim and I have had differing opinions, especially regarding people in Utah, but he never turns it into a personal attack. I make an effort to do the same, and when I do cross that line, I make sure to apologize for it.

I don’t believe my opinions are only the truth. Sometimes you even state something good. When I don’t agree you seem defensive. It’s you and others that have developed confirmation bias that you look for something I say that could be twisted or misinterpreted as a negative. How about just taking my opinions and agree or disagree without personal attacks? Forget about the “how” because that is subjective and biased.

A statement followed up by another statement in the same post pretty much sums it all up. It’s funny how you go about describing your own tendencies when trying to make the same claim about others. I don’t think anyone is buying what you’re selling. This was classic Hopper.

Why do you think I’m trying to sell something? You think you are correct as always. But not.
