Why BYU blew out Arizona

1 tight game until Zona’s 1st two possessions of the 2nd half. tip Robinson interception, Glasker fumble, BYU never looked back

2 The Defense is playing so well, it could probably win games by itself. This is the 2nd game (KSU being 1st) where we rattled the QB so bad that they just fall apart. Avery Johnson is still trying to figure out BYU’s buzz saw, Now Fifita, 4 Turnovers…Apple, Cherry, Berry and Chocolate? or is it Lemon?

3 BYU was so worried about TMac (Tetairoa McMillion) that we triple teamed him, leaving their WO wide open. 7 zip, that was about all BYU gave Zona for the rest of the night. TMac we held to just 78 yards on 5 catches, about one half of his average.

4 The Defense also completely stopped Zona’s running game. Conley had been averaging 6.9 ypc, Conley got 3 ypc vs. BYU’s D. The Defense also bent on the pass defense 275 yds but broke (Fifita) 3 interceptions. scary

5 I mentioned Parker Kingston before the game…well, he not only caught a TD pass but threw a TD pass to Martin…hmmmmm, maybe I should mention Moa or Lassiter next time.

6 Its interesting that Zona and BYU both had close to 400 yds on O.
Zona- 275 passing, 114 rushing.
BYU- 251 passing, 147 rushing.
but 41-19, that is what 4 TOs will get you.

7 this is the 6th game BYU has beaten the spread…time for everyone in the world to wake up.
UNDERRATED !

8 Retzaiff played another outstanding game and he should of been intercepted once but he is looking very comfortable out there.

OSU next at Les.

He still has lots of room for improvement. His throws were not accurate much of the time and he throws the ball too hard sometimes not giving the receiver time to adjust and catch it but overall he does pretty good. His decision making is suspect on occasion but not as common as last year and he seems to be improving on that.

I would say, the “lights came on” after the SMU game and 2 interceptions. Sitake, “Hold on to the dang ball” which translates to, “If you keep playing loose with the ball, you are going to sit”!

to the naysayers out there that keep asking for Bohanan to start, I have one word…“Seriously”!

I would also add, BYU’s defense held Az’s RB, conley to 39 yds on 13 carries, Conley was averaging 6.9 ypc.

BYU also held the BEST receiver in college TMac to 78 total yards, about 50% of his average. 39 of his yards were in 1 pass on Az’s TD scoring drive! So…McMillion averaged 10 yds per throw on 4 balls, well under his average. ON that 1st drive BYU was double teaming McMillion, leaving Lemonious-Craig to score, DC Hill corrected that mess realizing that if McMillion got his average (140)and we shut down the run, BYU would win.

The 4 turnovers spelled BLOWOUT!!!
