You know you’re getting older when

The sports heroes and legends of your youth start to pass away.

I fondly remember watching Ricky Henderson play for the A’s; no one could steal a base quite like him. It’s heartbreaking to hear that he passed away this week.

There are other iconic players like Willie Mays of the Giants and Jerry West of the Lakers.

It’s hard to find players with that same legendary spirit these days.

I read about Henderson. He was an all time great for sure. The greatest lead off hitter ever. All time SB leader by a mile, all time leader in runs scored, and number two in walks and a very high on base percentage. He had great speed, some power, and was a very good outfielder.

I understand he was a good person as well although a lot of people thought his ego was too big. He had a reputation as a very generous person. Very helpful to younger ball players Looks like he was only married one time, never divorced, and had 3 daughters according to his Wikipedia page… That is rare for high profile people. Too bad he is gone so soon.

Anyone who has raised 3 daughters still have hair left, is great in my book!

I had three teenage daughters at one time, that was enough for me.

I have two daughters my only children. They are less than two years apart so I got to experience their teen years at about the same time. If you had 3 all teens at the same time I can sympathize with you.

Waiting for the Hopper to disagree with both of you about how many daughters you each had, whether or not it was a challenge to raise them, whether Ricky Henderson was a great baseball player, Jerry West, etc.

I have no reason to question how many daughters anyone has. Henderson was a great ball player. You don’t think so cause it’s all rigged because of capitalism.

How bout the mother-teenage daughter dynamic.
In one heated “episode” I was just to the side and my wife turned to me and asked “I’m right aren’t I?
I swear I only hesitated a quarter of a second. That’s all it took.
I guess it took some heat off my daughter for awhile.
Or was it the time I responded with a “Well……”
Another rookie mistake!

What made it worse for me is that I only had “One” bathroom for three teenage daughters.

You can image the 'emotions" on some days!

You made the mistake of not giving up your own bathroom and going out in the backyard by a tree or something. I think that would have solved some of those emotional days.

Who said I didn’t? remember I also have a wife!
