Attempt on Trumps life

Is this really where we are at as a nation?

Liberal Media Botches Initial Headlines, Downplaying Trump Assassination Attempt (msn.com)

The Chickens have come home to roost. Left wing media have to own this. They created a perfect storm for whackos to go after Trump with their, “Trump will destroy democracy” and the Hitler comparisons.

I’m flying to America to support Trump in this desperate hour (msn.com)

I rest my case

Shots fired during Trump rally | Fox News Video

Mayorkas denied extra SS coverage despite numerous requests. How is it that a gunman could set up as close as 140 yds and get shots off. That is a chip shot in my world. Total failure on who was in charge. 100%
(I have to say that the SS agents that surrounded the president, after he was shot, did their job perfectly)

Where will this lead? Immediately after the assassination attempt both sides urged everyone to TONE DOWN the rhetoric and remember we are all Americans, which I thought was GOOD. Biden pulled his attack ads and we should see more of this moving forward, I would hope.

Long Term, Trump will benefit from all of this. His standing up and telling the crowd to “fight” has been broadcast to the world. His bloodied ear and fist pump is on every single news feed throughout the world.
That should get the attention of Putin.
I know the Jihadists already got the message.

I am both saddened and pissed at the same time that it has come to this!

This is the type of stuff that has made me worry about our country. That the American people can not have a civil discussion about issues without the name calling and telling everyone the other side is destroying America.

Words used by people MATTERS!, how we treat each other even though we disagree, how we talk with and treat others MATTERS!

Can we tone down the rethoric?

Floyd, I respect you a great deal and that you stand up for your beliefs.

Just posted on Nick Saban and his ESPY speech. It is worth listening to in times like these:
(2) Marty Smith on X: “Take 7 minutes and watch Nick Saban’s ESPY Icon Award speech. It’s a tremendous message. Few command a room like the GOAT commands a room. https://t.co/Vm3PPLKzse” / X

Weird what some people will say after something like this happens. I asked for people’s opinions (and specifically Floyd) what they think are the reasons for why this nut case did this? Floyd’s comment was that he was a registered republican…

The “fact” that he was a registered republican is totally irrelevant.

This isn’t a direct refereence to you Floyd so please don’t take it personally. I always appreciate your ideas and perspective. I only use the comment as an example.

Honestly, so many people can’t even think rationally or logically anymore. It’s crazy how far down the hill society has fallen.

From several sources:
“He is also reported to have donated $15 to liberal campaign group ActBlue in 2021.”
ActBlue is a radical left wing organization. High Schools, colleges, universities have been brainwashing kids for years now to be violent activists. This kid was a loner type who apparently was bullied everyday while in high school one school mate said.
Be bold and call out those who want to sweep under the rug the continuous attack on Trump for years now that affects immature kids who can’t fight off the brainwashing. Floyd wants to equate what Democrats have been doing destroying morality and our constitutional republic with most Republicans. There is no equivalence.

And, what 20 year old even knows what he is doing? seriously. This feels to me as a youngster from the Social Media age, impressionable mind that believed all that crap that CNN and NSNBC have been spewing for years. A grown mind looks right through this stuff and looks for the other side of the story. This kid just bought the cool aide.

I get what you are trying to say about the age of the shooter. However, tens of millions of Democrat voters of all ages haven’t been able to see through the lies of Biden, Harris, Pelosi, Schumer, all other Democrat politicians, Hollywood, the main scream media and Jill Biden.
I have yet to hear or see one Democrat be repentant and humble in any of their remarks concerning the rage they brought upon the people of this nation. Their best wishes for Trump ring hollow. Biden calling him “Donald?” After he’s demonized him as Hitler?
And lastly, we still have people trying to equate the violent messaging and attacks on Trump and his supporters by Democrats with Trump
And Republicans. Not even close. I have yet to hear Republican Politicians and media calling Biden and his followers Hitler, fascists, anti-democracy, constitution. Has Trump called Biden another Stalin or Putin? No. Biden raped a woman so don’t even start Floyd on Trump’s morality.

To me, this was a possible conspiracy assassination by Biden’s administration. There is no plausible explanation why there was no coverage by the Secret Service and law enforcement at the buildings where the shooter easily climbed up and got off 8 shots killing a firefighter who covered his family from the bullets and injuring 2 others besides President Trump. They could have had drones up as well as other high tech heat sensors. This has been the single worst attack on democracy yet by Democrats. They aren’t going to change.

Amid Trump assassination attempt, fears of political violence reach new heights (nbcnews.com)

Bremmer added that he was “deeply worried that it presages much more political violence and social instability to come.”

University of Chicago professor Robert Pape, director of the Chicago Project on Security and Threats, said in an email that a national survey he helped conduct in June found that 10% of American adults, a third of whom own guns, agreed that the “use of force is justified to prevent Donald Trump from becoming president.”

“We also need to worry about threats in retribution to President Biden. Our survey shows 7% of American adults (18 million) support force to restore Trump to the presidency, half of whom own guns,” Pape said.

“Since 2016, there has been a huge upsurge in political threats targeting Democrat and Republican elected officials alike — at all levels and functions of government including federal, state and local,” he said in an email.

In 2017, Rep. Steve Scalise of Louisiana was shot at a practice for the congressional softball game. Scalise was the third-ranking Republican in the House at the time. In 2020, several men in Michigan conspired to kidnap Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, and a hammer-wielding suspect attacked Nancy Pelosi’s husband at their San Francisco home in 2022.

Me: The grown ups in the room need to TONE Down THE Rhetoric. NOT THE TIME TO ACCUSE the other side of conspiracy or collusion.

TRUMP, you now have all the MO. Your Base is beyond motivated to vote. I want to hear nothing but unity, all the good things you will do for our great country. I hope your team had half a brain

Trump assassination attempt jolts GOP ahead of RNC (msn.com)

Each day of the convention will feature a different theme in the mold of Trump’s “Make America Great Again” slogan. Monday’s theme will focus on the economy, Tuesday’s will focus on safety and crime, Wednesday’s will be about military strength and border security, and Thursday will broadly focus on Trump’s plans for a second term.

An RNC panel last week approved a draft party platform that echoes Trump on key issues including trade, immigration and foreign policy, while also doing away with specific language about traditional marriage and enacting limits on abortion.

Trump has denied the shifted platform is meant to appeal to moderate voters.

“It’s not targeting moderates, it’s common sense,” Trump said last week on Fox News Radio. “They basically had in some cases gay bans. I don’t want that. That’s not what we’re about. They had other things that are ridiculous.”

Republicans have unified around Trump in the wake of the shooting on Saturday, underscoring how the party is coming together in ways it rarely has since he was first nominated in 2016.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R), one of Trump’s most bitter primary rivals, is slated to speak at the convention. Nikki Haley, who won the second most delegates in the primary, will also speak at the convention after initially saying she would not attend.

Me…The is what I am talking about. I would keep Reps. Matt Gaetz and Marjorie Taylor Greene about a million miles away from any mic.

One last thing: Trump praised his rally audience for staying calm during the entire incident. “A lot of places … you hear a single shot, everybody runs. Here there were many shots and they stayed,” Trump said. “I love them. They are such great people.”

This is simply amazing to me

No offense, I just thought it was weird that he was a registered Republican instead of some far left agenda group.

Second, did you see what I posted to Fish comments about the attempt on Trump?

The reason we are at this point in time in our country is because of the words people say and how they act towards those that do not agree with their viewpoints. The fact that if you are a democrat, you hate anything that comes from the Republicans regardless of how good of an idea it is. If you are republican, you hate anything that comes from the democrats regardless of how good of an idea it is.

Vilifying people for the simple reason that they don’t agree with your viewpoint is the why we are in this mess.

Credit to several democrats and republicans who decided to tone down the rhetoric and focus on issues, rather than the “Destroy America” mantra both sides have done.

Both Biden and Trump have decided to rewrite their talks, hopefully to tone down the hate in this country.

you don’t have to be liberal or democrat to dislike Trump. There are many registered Republicans who dislike Trump for various reasons.

But your right, a 20-year-old is not mature enough to wade through the crap being floated on the internet.

The real question is are you personally doing better now than you were 4 years ago? Are we doing better as a society now than we were 4 years ago? Is the ability to live a comfortable, peaceful life better now than it was 4 years ago? Is the world a safer place now?

There are so many evidences that demonstrate the answers to those questions to be no. The cost to live a life is more. Groceries, gas prices, home prices, clothing, etc. are crazy out of control. A Mcdonalds Big Mac meal in Santa Barbara is close to $20 now. I don’t eat there but I’ve seen it and its nonsense. A burrito that was $8-10 four years ago is now $15-20. A $25 sack of groceries is now $40+. Gas was $3.00 a gallon and now it’s $4.50+ Has your salary gone up in line with those costs?

These are the basic things that people need to survive and Biden doesn’t care. In fact the more poverty he can create, the more promises he can make to take care of all those people he put there. I heard a figure that 70% of the population in L.A. County is receiving some type of public assistance, whether its food stamps, housing vouchers, etc. That is ridiculous! How is that going to sustain itself, let alone the damage it is doing to your spiritual brothers and sisters.

If you can honestly say that you and everyone you know is doing better now than they were 4 years ago…

That is all and good Jim,
But answer this question: Is America more united or divided in the past 10 years?
Do people treat others who are on the opposite side of the issue better or worse?
Do people from both parties feel violence is appropriate reactions in the past 4 years?

You are talking about policies; I am talking about how we treat other people and how it has led to what happened to Trump. I would feel the same way, if someone did that towards a democrat.

To me, the real issue is always “how we treat people” who do not agree with our views. This Toxicity has led our morals to go down into the flipping toilet. As long as you feel you right, you can treat others like crap and that is okay.

Who is at fault, Floyd? Not Trump. Before he won the election, all the way back to when he came down the stairs of Trump Tower, you Democrats were attacking him. After he won, you marched in pink vagina costumes, burned down buildings rioting all over the country. You brought forth fake dossiers paid for by Bill and Hillary Clinton. With the court ruling today, it’s clear all that stuff with Mueller was unconstitutional now. Two fake impeachments and continuing calling him Hitler and the greatest threat to democracy. And you continue today even though it wasn’t the Proud Boys trying to take out Trump. It was the far left. Crooks was radicalized by the left including Biden, Harris, Schumer the Democrat media and Biden’s administration including all the Democrats in Congress.

To be fair, I don’t think Floyd is saying anything positive about democrats or their policies. I would never vote democrat and especially for the worst president and politician I’ve ever seen Stumbin Joe
I think it’s the blissful ignorance by one (not Aros or fish or Floyd or you, hmmm) that thinks alt right republicans have zero responsibility in this hate spewing, inciting rhetoric. I notice many here have stated to ramp the rhetoric down.
For every zealot on the left there is an equally zealous one on the right. Regardless of what one person says. I Didn’t say any democrat position is right or I support- just saying the left believes the right is wrong to the same level. The HATING the people on each side is tearing us apart - the majority of people left center to right center. Btw I live in a conservative area where I’ve heard extreme rhetoric on the right so know it’s there and espoused by many.
I will do as Floyd and not respond directly to that certain poster that is so irresponsible with his comments (e.g., we almost had a Civil War- I believe part of him wants that and a purge - and rhetoric that Biden might have ordered the assassintion attempt and also that calls by democrats to tamp it down and violence is unacceptable is just insincere garbage and again that democrats only are responsible for this hate). Just reread his texts. He thinks he is cleverly being subtle but is messaging is very clear.
When conference talks start making these hateful, inciting thoughts - oh wait, the talks are about the exact opposite. I think I’ll listen and observe those and not dangerous rhetoric from the far left and far right.

Agree :100: percent Fish. Please Keep providing links and actual relevant information. It helps me form views and keep up with what’s happening as a don’t even know how to attach links guy

It isn’t just what happened Saturday. There is also the personal and violent attempt attacks against conservative Supreme Court justices. Shooting Senators. Comments from Congressional Democrats to get in the faces of Republicans and to be violent. It’s been going on since 2015 because they don’t want to lose, especially to Trump. Tell me if you have Trump or any Congressional person or right wing media calling for breaking the law and shoot to kill Democrats?

I understand what you are saying and am in general agreement with it. I think the Hopper gets carried away sometimes and yes, his perspective is definitely one sided for the most part.

However, based on what I have seen, read, etc. I don’t think the evidence makes the whole situation balanced. My perception is that the liberal left is more vitriolic, more violent, more destructive and hence, more culpable. I don’t believe it is a 50/50 situation. I would say more along the lines of 80/20, which is typically the percentage in most situations of disagreement and discord as well as contributions and cause.

Its called the 80/20 rule where 20 percent of the people are doing 80 percent of the work, etc. My perception is that this is how it is happening. There is more liberal shouting, violent behavior, destruction of property, etc. from those who subscribe to liberal thinking and policies than from those who are conservative. 80% of the hate speech, calls for violence, destruction of property and other lawbreaking, no accountabilty behavior is coming from the liberals. I think it applies to the news we are fed as well. 80% comes from liberal media and 20% from conservative media. Actually it is probably more like 90% to 10% on that one.

If someone can provide evidence that it is different than that, please do so. I don’t think anyone can.

Did we see any right wing rioting, shootings, burning of cars and buildings after the leftwing assassination attempt of Trump? In fact, since 2015 when Trump came down the escalator at Trump Tower to announce his running for President, how many violent riots have we seen from the right through all the impeachments and court cases? I’d still say 99-1 for leftwing rioters over Right wingers.
So, going with your 80-20 rule theory, if both sides need to tone it down by 50%, then it still is 40-10 leftists causing contention. Democrats calling for calm is sad and funny at the same time.
