First half analysis here it is. Going to keep it short.
Good start then had a long dry spell and finished… mediocre. This is a game they can and should win.
Great players for BYU -
Averette - Time for people to accept the fact that he makes a big difference. To be honest, I don’t care if he commits a few extra turnovers, he has earned that right.
George - BYU needs some more athletic players that can go to the basket on offense and play defense. He needs to get more time on the floor, I think Pope knows that.
Lohner - Good thing we got a guy who has a nice basketball IQ because the rest of the bigs on BYU are clueless. Lohner can board because he has a sense for the game, knows where to put himself on shot attempts (offense and defense) so he can go after the ball.
The rest of the bigs stand and watch. Harward works hard but Haarms is too soft and Lee shouldn’t even be on the team. He reminds me of Worthington in that regard, but he is slower. He can’t shoot, move his feet or run the floor. Honestly, I have no idea why he starts or plays at all. Idaho Mr. Basketball or something… wow, they must not have good players in Idaho.
The other guards are mediocre. Barcello is fading… Johnson is overrated… at least on this board and the others look lost out there.
If not for the first 3 I listed BYU would be down by double digits.
That was longer than I wanted but it all needed to be said.
