So IMO best winner scenario for BYU and Big 12 is (in order):
ASU
Boise St
SMU (could reverse with BSU)
ND (mostly cuz I like ND and sticks it to Big10 and SEC)
Clemson, I suppose.
Indiana (but don’t know if it makes Big10 look stronger of weaker)
All Big 10 teams with OSU last. They are the original “Team Down South”
Texas - kind of like them and Sark is coach
Autually, I’ll put OSU below Texas, because, well I do not like OSU.
Rest of SEC with Georgia at the bottom.
Obviously, my likes and dislikes entered into it
Trouble is ASU only has a 1 in 8 chance of winning up front. SEC and Big 10. The deck is extremely stacked.
“But you’re telling me there’s a chance”
Not really. The fluke Kansas loss with the pooch punt mistakes. Without that, another win. Who cares by how much. A win is a win. Look at Kansas City Chiefs and they have won most games by on score games. Barely winning at 14-1 including today.
Kansas loss solidly supports Thawk. Yes, the pooch kick hitting a helmet was just bad luck and out of BYUs control.
Conveniently ignored that also lost the game was the Retzlaff throwing the end zone pass about 4 feet too low right to the defender. And the coach should never have called that play as Retzlaff has struggled with it.
So that game was lost by the offense and coaching just as Thawk pointed out.
h unwittingly provided the evidence to support Thawks supposition

Twack is rarely right. He’s a typical UCLA type of alumni supporter who is never happy with anything. Always looking to replace coaches even with winning records. Come to think of it, you are too.
The CFP nonsense to promote and allow more teams to have an opportunity to win a national championship is imploding because the real reason behind it is money. Any way to try and extract more money out of the system is what drives the machine.
Look at all the pro players that are dropping like flies. Teams that everyone thought would be good are not because they are losing key players to injuries and players are getting injured because the wear and tear is taking a toll on their bodies. Does the NFL care? Nope, they just see dollar signs. It’s the same reason the health care system is not measuring up, why CEO’s are being shot and a large number of people are saying it is justified, etc. Everything is driven by greed and the obsession with money and possesions. The Hopper is going to hate reading this but it’s all true.
All the games are blowouts because the teams that are moving on are the ones that bring in the most money. Notre Dame, Penn State, Ohio State and Texas… that pretty much answers the questions. SMU, Clemson, Indiana and Tennessee? Don’t make me laugh.
It’s funny that people will look at it and say “well, at least they had a chance” or “what a great season we had”, etc. because those people don’t see it. I love the subject of this thread… CF playoffs - ya never know!. I’d like pmac to explain what it is he thinks we will never know?
I say follow the money… that is one thing that is without question and something we do know.
Well, you are all over the place with your rant and Im sure lost some of your backing here. Senator Elizabeth Warren said the same thing you did about the murder of the United Healthcare CEO. It isn’t the murderers fault. It’s the CEO who started off at the bottoms and worked his way up. Just like the athletes who work their way up with hard work. Warren had to walk her stupid comment back as it gave energy to other demented persons who hate capitalism. The very system that has raised billions around the world out of poverty and starvation.
I reject your statements that suggest the games were rigged and that the players are throwing the games. Or injuries are fake or staged to give one team the upper hand. You are acting like old man Potter.
With that said, and I didn’t take anything wrong either. You sound like Warren and Bernie. But, with that said, it seems like there are more injuries than decades ago. Now that Sir Floyd has nothing to do, he can spend some time and do a study on injuries in sports and is there an increase? I would say there is a good chance there are more injuries as the speed at which athletes run has possibly increased causing greater potential injuries. Not sure if that is really true because the fact is, players were just as fast 50 years ago and had worse equipment and protection especially in football. Strength, conditioning and nutrition is by far better today as well. Anyways, you need to chill about your attack on capitalism.
I know this is off topic, but I cannot stand by and let Hopper misinterpret what was said.
Hopper, if you’re going to comment, make sure to back it up with factual information. What you posted isn’t exactly what she said. Facts matter, you know. She never said it wasn’t the murderer’s fault.
Her exact words were: Violence is never the answer, but people can be pushed only so far,” Warren said. “This is a warning that if you push people hard enough, they lose faith in the ability of their government to make change. The visceral response from people across this country who feel cheated, ripped off, and threatened by the vile practices of their insurance companies should be a warning to everyone in the health care system.
Anyone who has had to deal with major health issues for themselves or family members and were denied treatment by the insurance companies understands what Warren was saying.
This supports what Jim said:
All Insurance companies are a racket, pure and simple. My son works in the home health industry, where they fight with health insurance companies to pay what they are supposed to pay per the policy. Sometimes they end up going to court to get the money (success rate about 85% of the time). BTW, when I retired, he told me which Insurance companies to stay away from.
Can you please show me where Jim said the players were throwing games? I see where he thinks the deck is stacked against the lower seated teams, but no where do I see him accusing players of throwing games. His point “FOLLOW THE MONEY”!
You asked, I answered…
There are several factors contributing to the increase in NFL player injuries:
Increased Intensity: The level of play in the NFL has become more intense, with players getting bigger, faster, and stronger. This leads to more physical collisions and higher impact forces.
Shortened Off seasons: The COVID-19 pandemic led to shortened off seasons and altered training schedules, which may have contributed to an increase in soft-tissue injuries like hamstrings and Achilles tendons.
Turf Fields: Some players and experts believe that artificial turf fields can be harder on the body and lead to more injuries compared to natural grass.
More Games: The NFL season has become longer, with more games and less recovery time between them, increasing the likelihood of injuries.
Advanced Play: As the game evolves, players are performing more complex and physically demanding maneuvers, which can lead to injuries.
It’s a combination of these factors that has led to a noticeable increase in injuries among NFL players.
You are also so off base. Warren had to publicly apologized because what she said was a justification for the assassination. Why are you trying to to correct that fact. There is not justification for psychopaths assassinations, period! You want to debate the insurance or any other industry’s corruption concerns you are more than welcome to. But not wave the flag for more assassins to kill CEOs like Musk or anyone else because you don’t like their success. Thou shalt not covet.
I’ll look at your debate about insurance later when I have time. I’ve worked 39 years in the business and there is legalized fraud in it.
I printed the exact quote she said! Period! which is DIFFERNT Than what you said Warren said.
Warren apology was for making sure that “violence is never the answer” and stated that she should have been clearer that there is never a justification for murder.
She never apologized for her comments about the Insurance industry.
I NEVER SAID THAT!, I said Insurance is a racket and old people are being denied benifits because as Jim put it “Greed” of the insurance companies.
People are not killing CEO’s because they make money or that they are successful. Outside of United Health CEO, name one other CEO that has an attempt on their life?
Threatening letter is the norm because Companies screw with people lives by denying benefits. That will never change until someone holds insurance companies accountable for their actions.
BTW, I see you never answered my quesiton about what you said Jim said. Why?
