Feels like a turning point in America. Charlie Kirk was a champion of GOD the traditional family gunned down for defending our core beliefs. Get on Social Media, Get out in the streets and let the world know we will no longer stand for this Bull Sh t. Dems have championed violence against our values. 2 attempts on Trump, attacks on our Supreme Court justices, this has been the mantra of the left and they need to see us packing and ready to defend this great country. This is civil war folks. Take to the streets a let everyone know that we will not stand idle anymore.
he was a great God fearing man that loved everyone even if he disagreed with you. I know he was a big reason we are seeing a resurgence of men back into the church. this is a sad day indeed. unfortunately evil is real and with faith in Christ we can stand with him and defeat it.
Will this finally get people’s attention that our civil discord is out of control? Such a tradgedy. Heart broken. Debate - civil - like Charlie Kirk did - is good. Hate/violence is evil.
I kept thinking about our prophets counsels the last few years especially.
I was greatly saddened when I heard about this. Also fearful that others who have boldly spoken out for good and against evil are in danger. He had his own security team but this appears to be a professional hit. He was targeted because he was effective in going on campus and reaching young voters. He was a threat to the Marxists who have been so successful in corrupting college students around the nation and turning them against the principles that made America great.
Others like Matt Walsh, Ben Shapiro, and Jordan Peterson have been fearless spokespersons for common sense, the traditional family, and values that should transcend politics. I believe they all have security teams but it appears the Marxists now have no boundaries in their crusade to shut down opposing voices. They couldn’t do anymore through censorship because Elon Musk opened up social media so there there can be open dialogue. Now they are turning to violence and many have been suggesting they would stoop to this. I could be wrong about this , but I think more than one person was involved in this.
I heard Kirk’s story when Jordan Peterson interviewed him a few months ago. He decided to go on campus speak out for principles that should be universally accepted by everybody. He had no money and found some donors to sponsor him. He started out with a table he would set up on campus and he would talk to students and found he could debate college leftists who had more formal education than he did but who were ignorant concerning government, economics , history and had no good arguments other than woke talking points. Since the cowards on the left couldn’t shut him down with reason it appears they killed him. That’s what it appears to me has happened.
I didn’t think much of his religion…though I respect that he was willing to bring it into the public square when so many hide it as if it is not the core of their political thought.
Shades of Louis Midgely and Farnsworth and their courses on Political Philosophy
Cenk Uygur who has next to nothing in common with Charlie Kirk put out an immediate statement condemning the killing unstintingly…I went back and looked for some of their joint appearances…completely different politics, completely different personalities. completely different ways of building their political movements.
And yet, personal respect.
I will always remember election night 2024 watching him as he was only able to let go and enjoy the win and hard work when his wife came up to him. sweetest moment I have ever seen on screen.
I think Charlie Kirk would differ with you. He was about reducing violence through civil discourse. Millions of young men have regained their manhood through his plan. Which I would say is similar to what the Lord did during his ministry. Go to the people even in the face of potential violence. We need to support organizations like Turning Point that go to the young college students. Hit the Antifa-Trans left with words of truth. And, replace cities of blue with red.
thanks Fernk, powerful video!
I was listening to the radio before Charlie was murdered and I think Charlie has a lot to do with what I am about to say: Young people, especially young men today have different priorities then past young generations.
Gen Z’s Radical Role Reversal: Women Want Careers, Men Want Children
If this is true, then Charlie and Joe Rogan have helped mold this generation into 1 Believing in God and 2 having families is cool again. I also think that young people do not like being hood winked, they are very savvy compared to past generations.
They see the Dems message of Trans men in women’s sport, open borders, Antifa, black lives matter, and this war against removing illegals (sanctuary cities) as failed policies. (and you thought young people are tone deaf to what America is and what it means)…..not so. Kirk and Rogan handed Trump the win…..all of you here at Cougarfan know how I feel about Trump, Floyd, this one if for you, I think he is a back stabbing narcist and ya all know how I feel about that but I love 90% of his policies. This week alone he signed a Exec. order to investigate big Pharma and their deceptive commercials……a long time coming but back to the point……Charlie Kirk and Rogan may have swung the election on Trumps favor. I personally think Charlie Kirk is an American hero and his death- the swinging point to get everyone talking to both sides and becoming civil and more Christlike.
Well, there was a few days when the left acted civil after the attempted assassination of Trump. The You know, we used to say here’s the issue. Now, the left’s answer is “I don’t see the issue.. I don’t see an issue with the border. I don’t see the issue with inflation. I don’t see the issue with men playing in women’s sports or in women’s locker rooms and bathrooms.” If the left doesn’t even admit to seeing it, they aren’t going to debate it. Instead, they turn to violence, not words and then blame the victims.
There are reports now that the assassin’s bullets were engraved with trans and Antifa messages. Apparently the rifle was found still had ammo in it.
I have suspected Antifa could be involved in this. They are violent anarchists, and anything but anti-fascist. Their tactics are entirely fascist in nature and they are funded by some of the most vile, and evil human beings to ever walk the planet. Their violence and destruction of property in many of our cities is ignored by awful mayors of those cities who allow them to go unpunished and when they are arrested they are often set loose and leftist Soros funded prosecutors won’t lay a finger on them. They are too busy prosecuting grandmothers praying in front of abortion clinics.
My inclinations were antifa as well as transgender. In fact, someone was just telling me that when they let AI go at the picture of the killer, it matches up 99% with another school shooter that hasn’t been caught either. Doesn’t seem like a professional killer but if he’s done this before and hasn’t been found, then he’s just a sloppy professional killer.
How in the world does anyone out there make their way to the roof of a building from inside the building? Aren’t roof access doors locked? Where is the security? I mean they tracked the guys movements as he arrived on campus, made his way to the roof, did the dirty deed and then left the roof, jumping off a building and running into nearby woods? What “woods” are around the campus? How in the world does something like this CONTINUE to happen? Where were a few drones doing some scouting of the roofs before the event? Wasn’t the Trump shooter on a roof as well? Huge lack of preparation, action and everything else for security… of which there was apparently nothing happening?
It’s amazing.
This murder really shook me. I loved Charlie Kirk. His political and spiritual views lined up very closely with mine…though he wasn’t LDS of course. Before he was shot, he was talking about how much he loves Mormons. He said half is staff is LDS and mentioned a few of their names. Very respectful toward the church. I’m disgusted at how many liberals I’ve seen on line celebrating Charlie’s death. Disgusting.
yep that woods statement is a humdinger must be from some media expert whose never seen a Utah valley which don’t have woods. Officer tatum caught himself reading that line and useing it in his analysis of some of the video, he switched to some of the brush…lots of residential areas in Utah Valley have bushes and trees much thicker in residential districts than found in nature and that is just exposes media who go with the story instead of checking their facts.
Sadly not enough of the nation…hopefully our new age of political violence will abate quickly, though I wouldn’t be betting on it ending anytime soon.
they caught him
went to school there and there are no woods, but poor wording stuck confusing everyone. the area is an easement to homes that back up to the college. the best way to describe it is a thicket of trees. if you go on google earth you can see it.
I’ve been sitting with this for a while, and I feel compelled to speak up—not out of anger, but out of concern and a desire for clarity.
the talk about “the woods.” That patch of land between the neighborhood and UVU may seem insignificant to some, but to those that live nearby, that is what they call it. I have friends who live right there. It is kind of like people in Sandy called the “Gully”, which is Dimple Dell gorge that runs East/West through eastern Sandy area.
Now, regarding the misinformation swirling around the recent shooting—please be cautious. Governor Cox and the FBI SAC in Salt Lake City have warned us that foreign bots, particularly from China and Russia, are actively spreading disinformation to stir division. Claims about a “Trans Gender” or Antifa individual being involved were flagged as false narratives pushed by these sources. We need to be responsible with what we share with others.
As for Fish, I’ve appreciated some of his policies, but this second term feels different—more like a personal crusade than public service. Having worked in government myself, I know there are better ways to reform than what we’re seeing. I could write volumes on the missteps in reorganizing federal systems.
What bothers on me most, though, are the posts that cast blame or make sweeping accusations without evidence. It’s hurtful. I’ve looked into Charlie’s past statements—he once stood for dialogue and understanding, but in recent years, his rhetoric around MLK, LGBTQ+ communities, and others has grown divisive.
Maybe it’s age, or maybe it’s retirement, but I’ve stepped away from the noise of political pundits and leaned more into scripture and quiet reflection. My mornings now begin with meditation and prayer, asking the Lord what He’d have me do. Today, I felt moved to share my feelings.
I respect most of you. I value most of your perspectives. I just hope we can all pause, breathe, and remember that even though this person did something horrible, he is still a human being, who seems to me to have lost his way.
How do you think this young man’s family feels about what he has done? Apparently, one of them turned him in during the past 24 hours.
Watching this younger generation, I am amazed at how much “hate” people are taught, even within my own faith. If people are different or believe differently, then they are evil and should be shunned. If they don’t dress or do sports or whatever, they are not as good as you are. One thing I have taught my grandkids is that “no one” is better than someone else, you may not like them and that is okay, but you are not better than them.
This is the one and only time I will post about this tragic event. I do not wish to argue about my point of view on this event. I would encourage you to reach out and lift someone else. That is what we really need.
Addendum: They have caught the guy, there was some writings on the casings that was popular with Antifa, but they are not sure he was really part of the group at this time. The Father of the shooter and a friend are the ones that turned him in.
I feel for both families that will have life altering effects because a young man made a horrible decision to kill another human being.
Floyd this wasn’t the best time to or an appropriate comment.
-
you never said sorry for the loss we are all feeling. shows that you haven’t spent time to understand us and how we are feeling. you’re only seeing this through your lens. this becomes more pointed as you lecture us on what we should or should not do. look we don’t need lectures. we need you to morn with those that morn. we are all hart broken, and as we grieve we are going to express a lot of different emotions. know that it is because we are grieving
-
lecturing us. people that are morning and they need encouragement, patience and understanding. telling us what to do just rings hollow especially from someone who disagrees with us politically. honestly I don’t really care how you think we should feel, or should think. we are in pain and grieving, we just need you to morn with us
- with this statement I honestly don’t understand what your points above were for. were you just coming on here to lecture us? I will say it once again morn with those that morn.
- understand people are hurting and they may put a lot of mustard on what they are saying, but its only because they are in pain and lashing out. it doesn’t mean that is how they truly feel. give them time to understand their emotions and come to terms with what they are feeling. this doesn’t mean you have to commiserate with them, but you can morn with us.
now I am going to show you how to morn and show understanding by showing it to you. this is completely from the hart and I hope it helps.
Floyd, I know we disagree on some things politically, and your not a fan of the current president. I can understand that what you are seeing from him is concerning to you. if the other side of the political isle was moving as fast and making as many changes as he is, I would be very concern, but I hope you know that I stand with you when it comes to the bill of rights and the declaration of independence. if he treads on these I will be with you defending these rights. but know even though we may disagree I love you and care for you and want the best for you. I am willing to hear you out on your concerns. I may not agree with those concerns but that doesn’t mean I am not willing to listen.
All i can say, is that you missed my point completely.
Maybe I just need to back off the media including Cougarfan, so that I can try to do what President Neilson has asked me to do.
I would love to get into this more and make sure we understand each other, but I don’t think this is the thread to do it. if your ok with it can I privet message you?
