Ginsberg Passes On

I guess it wasn’t clear. I was asking about your not watching or listening to BYU football games.

I know after what I have seen with pro sports, I have stopped watching. A friend let me know the Lakers are in the finals for the NBA during the BYU game last night (it wasn’t the hopper) and I was like “oh, okay… I don’t’ care”

Of course after I found out that players for Florida and whomever they beat yesterday took a knee before their game yesterday because of the poor treatment of black people I wondered what in the world they were doing. Can the media do more to misdirect, misguide and misrepresent what is going on in the majority of our country?

I can’t understand how people are so willing to buy into the lies and false narratives that we see on a daily basis. I was proud of the great sportsmanship shown by players and coaches after the game last night. That is what it is really about.

We must continue to shine our light for goodness and love toward all people.

100% agree with you. The Constitution says a President SHALL nominate a justice. There are no ifs ands or buts about it. Obama was right to nominate Garland and Trump is right to nominate Barrett. The will of the people is being done. It’s now up to the Senate.

Communist take overs depend on anarchy and violent revolution to overthrow existing governments whether they be democracies or other types of totalitarian systems. What you call chaos is another appropriate term for anarchy. Chaos ensues when the social order is destroyed and that is what the so called “left” is attempting to do.

There is a school of thought that I prescribe to that posits all totalitarian systems are on one end of the spectrum and anarchy on the other and it makes perfect sense. Both are bad news. Anarchy is basically no government and totalitarianism is absolute government. Republics are the best form of man made governments and lie right in the middle. To the left of a republic is an oligarchy and to the right of a republic is pure democracy which is one step removed from mob rule which is anarchy.

I doesn’t really matter whether you put totalitarianism on the right, or left, or anarchy on the right, or left. When anarchy prevails absolute government fills the void. So the distinction between Communists, Nazis, military dictatorships, and absolute monarchies aren’t really that important because none recognize individual freedoms and demand absolute loyalty to the state. You can be a slave to a different type of master and the type of master you are a slave to isn’t that important. The master will kill you if you don’t bow to his will. Calling conservatives far right extremists and implying they are like Nazis is a cheap trick the Communist totalitarians use to smear conservatives. The Communist totalitarians are no better than Nazi totalitarians and they are just evils with a different tag, one no better than the other.

Aro, valid and important points for consideration and understanding.

I look at Democrats, and many Republicans, in both houses of Congress, as part of an Oligarchy moving toward a transition to a Totalitarian state. They want to do it orderly by gradual government decree, at least on the surface. Antifa, BLM, and others are anarchists hoping to create chaos and transition to a Totalitarian state by violent means. Some of the anarchists are just young fools with “skulls full of mush” thinking they are part of a violent revolution that will lead to a utopia where there is peace and everybody will have the same philosophy because the existing social and political orders will be overthrown. Unfortunately a lot Democrat politicians are quite happy to let the anarchist groups do their dirty work and run cover for them. They are in the shadows and the big money that supports them is bankrolling the violent anarchist revolutionaries as well. The transition isn’t coming fast enough. When Hillary Clinton wasn’t elected it became obvious more radical means were needed to accelerate the change. A legal election may not work for them and didn’t last time.

Secret combinations didn’t die with the end of the Nephites. They are alive and well. There will be perfect government on Earth when Christ rules and reigns as king over a Theocracy.

We throw around terminology a lot. Scialism is an economic system that requires authoritarian control over people. This leads to top down Marxism which ends up what we call Communism. It starts with an idealistic belief of having no poor without God and therefore no unalienable rights such as liberty, freedom and the pursuit of ownership in property.
To get there, sometimes the thugs of Communism have to create chaos and/or fear. This is fascism. Fascism is not an economic system. Hitler still allowed private ownership and religious freedom. But, he used specific groups of people to to claim for the reason of money problems like the Jews. Kill them and get the population to hate Jews and kill them. Anarchy or chaos it’s all fascist. Democrats have devolved into fascists and are leaning heavily towards Communism. California is a prime example.

Aro, you hit it out of the park again.

A lot of what seems to be lost on people is that presidents are presidents from January when they take office until the January when they leave office whether it is at the end of their first or 2nd terms. They can nominate judges, sign bills, and do whatever until they leave office. That is what I expect Trump to do. A president is only a lame duck when he can’t do anything because his party doesn’t control either part of the legislative branch of government. Even then he can veto things and it will stick unless there is a veto proof majority. If Trump isn’t re-elected he could still continue with the confirmation process even after the election until he leaves office if the confirmation process hasn’t been completed. I would hope that he would if he is not re-elected because it will be more important than ever for conservatives to control at least one branch of the 3 branches of government.

Obama couldn’t appoint a judge because he didn’t have a majority in the Senate. Voters should be careful about splitting their tickets because it may not get them what they want. The separation of powers written into the Constitution works and seems to keep things in check so the mob rule of pure democracy doesn’t take over.

Although, I would like to see Trump have 2 years of control of both houses and a 6-3 in the SCOTUS

Absolutely!!!

Just for the Record:
Never said “What I believe” about the Scotus nomination, nor will I!

I just mentioned that it is hypocritical for McConnell to say it one way when Obama is in office and now reverse it this year.

OK, I misunderstood you. Zero hypocritical on McConnell. I expect him to do what is right and certify the President’s wishes

I am just saying that in our society and the way people are acting… It is hypocritical.

“IF” this issue was reversed and the democrats controlled the Presidency and the Senate, would you say the same thing?

I think you would Chris, because I think I understand how you think and feel. but some “conservatives” I think would be up in arms if the democrats did that.

IsTrump the President of all Citizens of the USA or just to his core base?

If he is the President of all, and not just the core base, he should let the 2021 president choose the new Supreme Court justice be it himself or someone new.

Senator Grahanm had a fit when Obama wanted to appoint a new Supreme Justice. He argued that the appointment should be made by the new President. The Democrats agreed to put the nomination off and let Trump choose the next Justice.

Now, in 4 years, Trump has nominated three justice of the Supreme Court, while at the same time, one Liberal Judge died. Now already, we have lost the balance of power and Graham and Trump wants to make the imbalance even grater.

Also Senator Graham.

And you are wrong because McConnell did nothing hypocritical…

Not at all. If Obama had the Senate Garland would have been confirmed. Schumer would have voted on it in an election year. So, the real hypocrit is Schumer and the Democrats.

Floyd,

I totally agree with you. A balance of power is one of the great things about our democracy with all of its checks and balances.

When a President or a Senator, or a member or the House of Representatives, or the Judicial Branch, tries to eliminate that balance of power and they knowingly do so, to advantage their own party, It reminds me of the servant willing to sell his own soul.

So, are you talking about Pelosi and her polit bureau committee for the 25th Amendment? Schumer’s and Biden’s threat to Court Pack the SC?

To be honest, with the Democrat Party taking on a strong appearance of Communism, I’m all for Republicans having super majority in both houses of Congress. Glad to hear President Oaks speak in the threat of socialism and communism.

By the way, a balance of power doesn’t mean political parties having equal power in government. It’s simply the three branches of government have equal power.
