Is he a product of the system? Absolutely. When you go through the stages as you rise to the top of whatever mountain it is that you’re climbing you become corrupt through a slow process. Unless you have the Savior and his teachings foremost in your mind and heart this is what will happen. Look at the difference between world leaders, our own being among the worst, and the prophet. Whom do you trust to do the right thing in any given situation?
Barta is at the top of the college athletics/CFP mountain now. He feels empowered and emboldened. His disdain for others who are trying to do what is ethical, right and just is a symptom of the situation he finds himself in. It’s as if there is no possibility of doing the right thing or making a just decision.
It’s a sad process and curious how that happens.
