Just because there is an avalanche racing down the mountain doesn’t mean you can put up a little fence and stop it. Government is too big, the avalanche has been racing down the mountain for a couple of decades now, at least. Next item will be if and when the floods come. Not only is there zero maintenance regarding flood control, they actually plant stuff and water it in the rivers and creeks. Water is a commodity that has been mismanaged as well. As the value of avocados has skyrocketed, everyone has planted their ranches with the trees, hundreds of acres of new avocados, etc. is where all the water is going now. Money, greed and power - an avalanche that can’t be stopped.
stop already, the fire policy is a good change and who doesn’t love an avocado.
but you are right, Washington is too ■■■■ big. Common sense is a thing of the past.
Agree on both.
Will the fire policy actually be implemented? maybe, maybe not.
Avocados are great. A small group of farmers are getting rich because they are overpriced and the water issues in California are a serious problem. The sierra snowpack from the month of December was incredible but it has been completely dry in January. Climate change is for real, unfortunately it is being used as just another political tool like Covid has been.
WOW! You mean the the climate doesn’t stay the same? It gets hotter and then it gets colder? It gets wetter and then it gets dryer? I didn’t know that…Interesting. Very interesting!
Don’t be ignorant. How many years have you lived in California and, more specifically, Ventura County?
I think about as long as I have. I have been here more than 50 years now and the climate is very different than it was 20 or 25 years ago. Our moisture patterns are totally different than they used to be. We are in a serious drought too. The water supply is in bad shape. Lake Casitas is significantly lower than it has ever been since it was created 60 years ago. The last several years have seen some of the driest on record. There are a lot of reasons for the current situation but I believe one of them is the change in climate patterns, seasons, etc.
No big deal unless it becomes a big deal.
Is it man-made? I know I fart too much in my old age along with the cows. It must be old people’s fault…
Big picture? No I don’t think it’s man made. I do think that “mankind” does a lot of stupid things in response to it. When people don’t focus on God’s ways they get off track, make unrighteous choices and decisions, focus their efforts on things that don’t matter, pretend to care, etc.
That is where we’re at right now, living for the moment, believing that everything will work out, focusing on doing things that don’t change the future, just promoting an agenda.
Looks like The topic got off track hero. Jim are you getting any better from this C19?
Yes, I feel pretty good. It kind of dragged along for a few days but definitely better now.
