Taysom Hill was a HOF career wasted. Had to play the last couple years during his prime years of experience and athleticism with objectively one of THE WORST coaches in NFL history. Finally gets a real coach and in two weeks becomes NFL POW. His odometer is getting up there. Might have 2 more years left IF he heals up and IF the interim coach gets the permanent job or he gets waived (absolute possibility) to shed cap room and signs with someone who will leverage his talent.
As the proud owner of one reconstructed ACL I can say for Taysom’s sake I’m grateful that at least it’s a surgery that these days gives him a real chance to be back stronger than ever in 6-7 months.
I have no idea why anyone would leave the DC job at a top 25 program like BYU with a full share of B12$ next year to be HC of a dumpster fire in a league that doesn’t even have status or a TV deal in place. Do a good job at BYU for two years and Hill can do much better than USU.
I’m thinking more about his health. Why take a job full of stress as a HC is with a bad heart. Rest up, get strong again, keep the stress off and then get back at it. He can’t coach anymore if he’s in paradise.
USU is a dumpster fire right now, the DOJ almost shut them down. the new AD is a DEI hire. bronco is going to stay at NM for a while. I don’t think he wants to deal with the NIL, he just wants to teach kids football and help them become good men.
Hill is a fun player to watch sad that he is out for the season.
How would they be able to do that? Are they a terrorist organization? They can charge the individual people with crimes. But shut down a department in a state school? By what authority and for what reason?
DOJ puts Utah State on notice for ‘substantial non-compliance’ – Deseret News " Four and a half years after Utah State University [signed a resolution with the U.S. Department of Justice intended to address Title IX violations by the university — especially within the Aggies’ football program — the DOJ is alleging “substantial non-compliance” by USU."
Apparently, you are the that is ignorant, Yes, the DOJ can and does fine, even charge people at a University for violating Federal law (Title IX).
What allegedly happened? The coach and, what, two athletic directors were fired without comment or explanation. Will the lawsuits be settled or go to court?
There was an allegation that one of the football players assaulted a female on campus. It was reported to the HC for the football team, who then let the associate AD know about it.
From what I understand, the coach and the AD did not follow the NCAA or Federal guidelines for reporting this type of incident. The AD and School President then fired both the associate AD, the HC coach and someone else in the AD office for non-compliance.
Hope that helps… as for what will happen in the courts, it is a crap shoot at best how it will go.
Again, the question is simple. Can the DOJ shut down the Aggies football team and/or close USU completely? Try not to get into fringe stuff. It’s a simple question.
I thought it had something to do with Title IX. Which is it?
Also, this is how it can be handled. If not, the DOJ can file cases against the people involved for a variety of reasons. But, they can’t shut down the football team or athletics department or the entire USU school. Hope that helps.
