Not ready to play

There is no doubt that BYU was outcoached in this game and that is the PRIMARY reason they lost. Everyone can argue that it was the offense or defense or whatever but the bottom line is that the coaching staff did not make the appropriate calls or adjustments in game/at halftime in order to turn the tide in this game.

Think of it this way. When you look at a bottle of medicine you have the active main ingredients and you have the inactive supplemental ingredients. The inability to score more than 3 points in the 2nd half. The other things are part of the mix but not the main reason.

Don’t over analyze-not that tough-your giving medication analogies to a doctor. Listen to the doctor😃

One of the most irrelevant comparisons I have ever read. I think you may need a prescription for something… not sure what but maybe something that helps you collect your thoughts and make sense out of them.

The analogy is perfect for this discussion. As a doctor you should be agreeing.

You just didn’t expect a perfect analogy.
:sunglasses:

In case anyone is wondering and mostly this post and link is for thawk…

We can “debate” the subject to no end but I agree, as I have for years now, with this argument.

For thawk’ sake I will state this as my opinion… errr, very strong opinion - BYU will NEVER be invited to the CFP. They will be fortunate to get a NY6 game, especially when they blew a rare opportunity against Coastal Carolina. That is my opinion, but it is oh so close to being factual.

When we win all our games next year, 7 P5 teams we will be in the CFP final 4.

My opinion is the same as Hopper. IF BYU wins all games next year, they will be in the CFP. But I also don’t think they are capable of winning all their games unless Sitake fires his buddy who over sees and perpetuates cruddy defenses!

Well it’s possible because it’s happened before-just not likely that they win all their games as their schedule as an independent is a lot harsher than it’s ever been.

The CFP committee is bought and paid for by the college football powers, mainly the SEC. Bought and paid for. The only way a non-P5 team will get into the CFP is if some major earthquake type calamity happened to make it impossible to have all P5 teams in the CFP. Even then, BYU would never get voted into the CFP, even if they were 12 and 0 and won every game by 10 points or more. There might be a chance for perfect season BYU to get into a NY6 games as a a throwing a bone to a starving dog gesture.

But BYU, this year, does not deserve a NY6 bowl. They proved that last Saturday. A last ditch, down at the 1 yard line is still a 5 point loss.

That seals the deal for me. You and Hopper and your opinions… in this case, not much of a validated or legitimate one. I guess the article or what was contained in it did nothing to change your perspective. I don’t understand how you can maintain your opinion. Maybe you say that because you know BYU will not win all their games which makes it easy to say that if they do, they will make it. I honestly hope they win all their games for the next 2 seasons, just so my opinion, and the opinion of many intelligent sports people, will be validated.

Oh well, this is 2020… a year for the ages.
