So what do we do now?

Sr_Burton,

Again, we totally agree. I do think that the dual threat will get the nod just before game time. I believe that to date they are listed as
one OR the other.

Dear Dr. Arkiecoug, PhD,

Oh I am equally as sure that you are correct again. Your vocabulary and logic shows how intelligent you are. Thank you for your post.

Sr_Burton

Have you noticed on this site, that most want to talk about the direction BYU Cougar has been in the past, is now, and what are hopes, aspirations, are for the immediate future, while a couple of others on the site only want to argue, find fault, and make very little if any significant contributions towards the improvement of the program. Not all of us agree, but we all want to brainstorm ideas that may make us a better and more significant team in the world of college football.

All in all it’s a tough call. I don’t think you can rely on the Air Force game as a good barometer of the USU team. The Air Force, like Navy, and Army offenses give a lot of teams fits with their running offenses. I expect a swarming, motivated defense from USU this weekend and this spells pressure on the qb. Hall’s athleticism may be a difference maker, but Romney has been getting the ball out very quickly, so if the receivers break open or the running backs are used in the passing game Romney could have a big day. It just depends on so many factors that makes it a tough call, but BYU’s success ultimately lies with being dominant on the OL and defensively the front 7. No matter -this game will be interesting to watch and a good barometer of where these teams are headed

Thank you Sr_Burton.
Full agreement.

We lose to Utah, we beat Tennessee, We Lose to Washington,
we beat USC, We lose to Toledo; We lose to USF, and find our own inconsistency impossible to forecast the future.

Just because Air Force took town Utah State, does that tell us that they will come back more focused on a win over us, or does it mean, that possible their debth chart is as banged up as ours, and it will turn out to be a battle between the 2nd and third stringers on each team, instead of the starters we had at the start of our season.

It may well turn out to be whom, or which team has the best back ups.

Ron, my only insult was your condescending attitude. Other than that have with whatever opinions you want. I will ask questions in general or to specific posters but not directed by you. You don’t have to tell me anything Ron, I did not ask you for anything.

You guys crack me up! Engage in nonsense and agree. Can’t even follow the posts in one thread let alone in several :joy:

Ok, so you guessed that I have a PhD, actually 2.

First one in 1982 and the second in 1990.

Somebody from Arkansas with 2 PHDs!!! Who woulda thunk it? I guess that makes you number 2. I think Bill Clinton may have one. Maybe Clinton’s was a JD, but he may have gotten a PHD from Oxford in women’s studies, studying women that is.

If you are not from Arkansas my apologies!! Nick Satan needs to repent and join the church and then come and coach us for $500,000.00 or whatever we pay our assistants.

I guess Andy Reid should give away $7 million of his salary too? It’s amazing how many members of the church are embracing socialism these days. Which leads to communism and tens of millions of deaths every time. How about the good old ten commandments of thou shalt not covet.

Yeah, one in biomedical engineering and one in bio-ethics. My redneckedness tried to block my way but I persevered. But retired now., Clinton has a law degree as his only graduate degree but in his own research efforts: one in crookedness, one in dirty young/old man and one in clowning.

I would rather have a man like Bronco Mendenhall coach at BYU than a Nick Saban any day of the week. Bronco was the right man for the job and had his priorities straight. It is obvious that Saban cares nothing about anything other than football. He missed voting in the last presidential election because he is a coach 24/7. It seems he is totally oblivious to anything outside of football.

I love sports but the money paid to people to coach and play games is seriously absurd in the grand scheme of things. In fact it is seriously absurd that all of us here spend the time we do discussing this stuff as if it is something of great importance.

Unlike Saban, most of us can walk and chew gum at the same time. So, the time we spend in here isn’t absurd. It’s very little time during the week.

Grasshopper,
I don’t have the slightest idea of what you are talking about.
Sorry my comprehension skills are not advanced well enough
to figure it out.

Honesty is the best policy

Hall seems to have more of a concussion issue than it appeared. Bailor Romney seems to be better than both Wilson and Hall. He is very mature and cool under pressure. BYU better be careful against Liberty, we can’t take wins for granted.

Good points Aro. That is my issue about P-5 vs. G-5. BYU had a nice victory over Utah State. But to me USU obviously lacks defense. BYU better be careful against Liberty, their record is better than ours.

Been saying that about Liberty. Ummm…Romney is also hurt.
Wilson has more upside than Romney. Wilson will resume as the QB when healthy.

Playing and beating two P-5 teams is one thing, but beating all four P-5’s including Utah and Washington is another thing. We got creamed by Washington and Utah beat the Huskies this past Saturday. Now Washington has four loses. In the opener where both teams had pretty much everyone healthy we played Utah better than we played against Washington. This gets to the point of my opinion that is BYU a P-5 wnat to be or is BYU a P-5 comer?
