Surprise: Clark Barrington Transfers

Air Force beats Baylor 30-15 and Baylor ends up 6-7. He could have played in a bowl game with a team that won their bowl game and went 8-5.

And beat Baylor

This is why I question the coaching was the issue. Or at least most of it. The NIL is the biggest reason these days. Get rid of it…

I think NIL is the reason for these transfers. Why else would an All American lineman play another year at a new place?

I’m with you on this. The players aren’t saying that it was because of the coaching. I understand Pili’s situation being accepted into graduate school where he’s allowed to play. It looks like Holmo has worked on getting better NIL’s for the athletes and this should help a lot.

If you want to make it the next level, you have to have a good coach that will get you there.
Funk is not as good as Mateos or Grimes (Grimes has put more NFL lineman than Funk and Mateos combined).

That is the reason you leave! I also think there is a lot more “toxic” stuff going on behind the scenes.
Look at the number of starters leaving (Campbell boys, Romney, Conover, Pilli, Holker), look at the number of recruits bailing on BYU. Players know each other through mutual friends or family.

Sorry, but no go with your reasons. Other big name schools are having the same. Also, we have really good recruits that have chosen BYU as well as transfers. No, if Grimes is so great, they wouldn’t be 6-7.

Other big name schools are not having several of their star players leaving. Name one big named school that has 2 4 Star recruits (Romeny, Conover) and 2 All American (Campbell boys) leaving at the same time.

You made the comment, now back it up with FACTS!

Actually, the Bear Defense was their weak point, just like BYU in October, had a good offense running, but the defense could not get off the field for them to perform.

He baited you! Hopper loved Grimes and Co when they were here at BYU. Because Hopper always takes the opposite side of the conversation, no matter how ridiculous it is, he has to eventually turn on himself. He just hopes that others don’t remember what he says over the years.

So, our defense was good in September and November and the bowl game? Should have kept Tuiaki then. Think before writing.

You might want to Google some articles before challenging me. I’ll give you a merry Christmas another chance… By the way, Quack (Thawk) is baiting you.

Go back and watch the Baylor game. You’ll see that BYU did not play a drop 8 defense as it’s primary scheme but did so the following week and got killed. Post-October games were not Tuiaki’s calls. So drop 8 worked three times: Against Southern Florida which won only one game all year, Wyoming, and Utah St. Which had lost to Weber St. and UNLV the previous two weeks. It could be argued that Wyoming was the high point of a Tuiaki-led defense this year. That’s not exactly a ringing endorsement.

I was being facetious. Floyd thought he was being an expert and I was pointing out the obvious indirectly.

I was giving my opinion based on what I see, Nothing else!

Oh come now
You were saying I couldn’t back it up as though you knew as an expert. Merry Christmas!!!
