I would add one thing to his comment about UNLV shooting out of their minds. When many teams go up against BYU, this is the result. The BYU opponent has one of their better games and their confidence is usually through the roof. UNLV was probably shocked to be up 17 at halftime but you can bet their confidence was high. As BYU made the comeback, the UNLV confidence disappeared, you could see it in their body language, their inability to get a decent shot and just overall game. They regained that confidence at the free throw line and it didnāt shock me one bit when that guy hit the 3 at the buzzer. All this after their best player had fouled out.
BYU has very little team confidence. Yoeli is confident and Haws is up and down. He is playing better but it is about time too. Emery has helped Haws to be confident and they do well because they still think they are in high school playing for BYU senior academy or something.
Like I said at the beginning of the season, this team isnāt very good but they have a few good players. Dastrup would have made a huge difference because in spite of how the coaches treated him, he knew he had game and he was a difference maker. That came from serving a mission⦠though the coaches tried their best to kill his confidence and game.
