The best thing they should do is take the conference tournament winners. But, take also automatically the winners of each conference. It they win the conference tournament too, then the second place teams in conference play automatically go. Then 3rd place teams. That way, teams are playing to not just look at the conference tournaments. Enough of this 9 teams from any one conference.
